SO, I'm curious....I'm not going to be able to make it out to NY till July!!!! My FH and I would like to get married either April or May and I see so many of you have already booked a place for those months! Do you think July is too late?? Do you guys think i'll be able to book a place less than a year before the wedding? I almost feel like I should have my family out there check places out and pick one for me!!!

I think there is always something open. It just depends on if you want a specific hall or not. If you want a certain hall maybe look online at places and maybe have your family check them out. It is a hard decision. I booked my place 1 year and 2 months before my wedding. I didn't book it as soon as I got engaged. I got engaged in July 06 and didn't start looking until January of this year. Hope this helps.

My future sil is planning her wedding and booked a place 9 months ahead of time. You will find a place, but you should be flexible with your dates and if it will be a friday or saturday night.

you should be fine..just look on here as much as you can so you can cancel things out and look on the twin thread to see where is already booked..some places allow more then one wedding at a time..so if there is only one person at a place you may really want you wedding to be..you might still be in luck
and just cause im bias..you should check CLM

My friend planned her wedding within 6 months...so you really dont have to worry...if you want a Saturday night...then I would ask your family to check out places for you

As long as you're not dead set on a specific date and place, you should be fine. A lot of people plan weddings in less than a year.
