I am thinking of getting married on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007. The place that I have dreamed of getting married is $150 cheaper per person on that night. No one will have work the next day so I thought it should be ok. Some people might have to leave work early on Tuesday but since the save the date would be sent out far in advance is it rude to expect that of people?? I need some opinions...

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
I think that is a great idea for a day, and if you send out your STD's it will be even perfect b/c they will know about it in advance, but just know that still some people may not be able to make it b/c of work. if your cool with that then go for it

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
It is similar to Friday night wedding. I think it should be fine.

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
That's a tough one. It really depends of your guests work schedule. For example guests that get paid hourly may not appreciate the fact that they need to cut their work day short. Most large companies let their employees leave early anyway however so those guests probably wouldn't have an issue with the July 3rd wedding date. The main thing however is what you feel is important. Speak to those people who you/your FI feel HAVE to be there (family, close friends) and get their thoughts. As long as those folks can attend that's all that really matters. After all its YOUR day!

I am getting married on July 3rd 2006. It is on a Monday, I feel like it is a Saturday because everyone is off the next day. I think it would feel the same if it was on a Tuesday, go for it!!!

honestly, i think it will be a huge inconvenience to go to a Tuesday wedding. People have to work, no matter how early you send out the save the dates....

I don't know, I don't see it as being any different than Friday weddings, and I have been to plenty of those. I prefer Saturdays since you don't have to take off work (and even Friday or Tuesday nights means for me taking 1/2 day off work to get ready and get there by 4 or 5 for the ceremony), but if that's not an option I don't see Tuesday as being more of an imposition than Friday.

I don't see a problem with the day. Those who want to come to the wedding will be there.

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
I got married on Good Friday in order to have my wedding at Flowerfield.... Some people were not pleased with this because it was easter weekend and they couldnt eat meat...etc.... You can't please everyone. I ended up having my dream wedding because I went with a more affordable date. Everyone had a great time and forgot what they were complaining about before the wedding.
Do what will make your dreams come true!

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
wow, did you say $150 cheaper?? go for it! most people have the 4th off anyway. Though I know not everyone does. my fiance works in international treasure so he doesnt have teh day off as foreign banks are open, and I used to work for an airline and did not have the 4th off. BUT, most people do. consider what kind of guests you have.
and $150 is a lot per person to save!!!

That's a TON of money to save...honestly, do what works for you- if they want to be there they will be....it is just like a Friday wedding. Just make sure you get those save the dates out early- I'd consider magnet ones for your day too...

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
I think that the people that truly love you and want to share the day with you, will be at your wedding no matter when or where you have it.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule - somethings cannot be helped, but that seems to be the case.
I went to Thursday night wedding over the summer, and the Friday after was not a holiday - I just took the Friday off from work and made it a long weekend. If you give people enought advance notice they will make the necessary arrangements.

Re: JULY 3rd WEDDING??
I'm getting married on the 3rd in 2007. As far as being worried by the day of the week. Its equivient to a Friday, and who ever matters is going to be at your wedding regardless of what day it is. Also, it was quite surprising that many of the reception sites we went to considered it a Saturday!!! In my opinion, there is no question. You'll be having you're dream wedding and saving money. Go for it!!
