Reading through all of these posts and about how some of you girls have had people complain about your wedding dates, really makes me wonder something:
Why do people complain about something they are not required to go to??
It's like if you don't like the date or time or location, don't come!![]()
A lot of places FH & I are looking at are 'far' and people are all 'Ohhh soo far...'
like DON'T COME then.
ITA. its no skin off my back- then i can invite someone else, or save $$ on the hall bill. you wont be missed

Re: July 4th Weekend Weddings
We didnt have our heart set on July 4th weekend, it just kinda happened. We got price quotes from all halls from the last week of June through all of July and July 3 just worked for us and our families. No hall wanted to give me a discount, in fact, one wanted to charge me more!

Re: July 4th Weekend Weddings
I think it's a great idea. July 4th isn't a day like Mother's Day or Thanksgiving where everyone absolutely WANTS to be with immediate family.I would love to be invited to a wedding like this and kick off the holiday weekend! Go for it

Exactly!
I swear some people think that the success of the wedding revolves around their presence.

FH and I looked at July 4th when we first started looking and there were no discounts since it is on the weekend. I guess it depends on the hall.
