Re: July Ladies

FFIL asked where we want to have it. We have been throwing ideas around.

We start Pre-Cana this Sunday, so we will find out more about timing. The weekend before our wedding is July 4th, so the rehearsal can't be that weekend. Our wedding is on a Friday, so I don't want to have our rehearsal the day before because then the bridal party has to take another day or a half a day off work to get there. Plus many have babies and all my BM's are traveling to LI so they will not be able to stay the night and will have to go back and forth.

FSIL suggested 2 weeks before. Is that too early?

ooooo i am def interested to hear this!!

i want to try to cut FMIL off at the chase a little bit - FILs gave us a certain dollar amount to spend on whatever we want, but then said that the rehersal dinner has to come out of that money, and when we suggested doing a low key RD so that we could put more of the money towards our band, FMIL freaked. she said this is the only part of the wedding that people will know/think she is responsible for, and she doesn't want it to appear 'cheap.' i don't want it to look 'cheap' either, but hey, i don't need something insane since i'm having a gigantic wedding a few days later!!! i'm hoping to price out some places and then just have the info ready for FMIL and hope she just agrees!!!

Sorry, I don't have an answer about whether it's too early, but....

I see your getting married at Coindre - are you looking for a restaurant in the Coindre area? If so, let me know, I'm from Huntington and I have some GREAT suggestions for RD locations.

I would love a restaurant in Huntington, but our rehearsal is at our church in Commack. Is that too far? I really wanted to have it at Off the Wall.

We're looking in and around Port Jeff, which is where both FH and I were raised and where our church is. I'm thinking of calling Pasta Pasta and seeing if they'll surprise me with something affordable, though I doubt it! I'm also going to try Carnival and Amici and hope they can hook it up!

Oooo, I love off the wall!! It is a littttttle far. I think it depends on where in Commack - are you on like the Commack/Northport border or are you further east?

Commack/ East Northport. Our church is Christ the King on Indian Head Rd.

Re: July Ladies

I honestly don't think it's too far for food that is THAT good. As long as all of your guests will have rides, I think it's perfect. My other Huntington suggestion would be FH Riley's, which is where I'm BEGGING my mom and sister to have my bridal shower. It's a restaurant and I'm not even sure it could fit a bridal shower, but my god I love their food!

I definitely have to check it out. Where is it? I love Huntington.

Re: July Ladies

It's on NY Ave, right next door to Nag's Head on one side and Besito on the other. Right after the intersection with High Street if you're heading North on NY Ave!
