I have all the major stuff done. After the new year I need to look for invitations, finda place for brunch, find a veil and headpiece, makeup and hair person. what about you?

I'm totally behind with this whole planning thing All I have is DJ, photographer, and my dress...I still need everything else

I feel like I'm a bit behind too. The major things I have done are the place (ceremony & reception), florist, dress, BM dress, minister, headpiece/veil. I'm currently working on finalizing photographer, registy, blocking hotels, invitations. We don't have a band yet either. I've been kind of frustrated these days with planning and have been taking it out on my FH 'cuz I feel he hasn't been very proactive on some of the things I delegated to him.

I toatlly understand I am getting very frustrated with my FH too. He wants 2 girls that he grew up with him and are like sisters to him to be in the BP but as they have gotten older they have grown apart and he barely talks to them anymore so he hasn't asked them yet. Every weekend he tells me he is going invite them out for drinks and ask them but he doesn't
I feel bad because there is a rumor going around that one of them is going to say no so I think that is why he keeps putting it off but I can't finalize BM dresses until he does.

I don't think you have much to worry about it seems you have a lot done.

How come no band yet...are you having problems deciding?

By the way, where are all you girls getting married?

We're getting married at the Three Village Inn in Stony Brook. We finished all the major things so far, ceremony, reception, photograher, florist, makeup, hair, invitations, honeymoon, wedding night accommodations, MOH dress, wedding gifts, favors, officiant. I think thats it lol.

Cippyloo - My FH has yet to finish picking his groomsmen - 1 guy is in Germany and I keep asking him if he's asked him yet considering he's in Germany he need to be asked sooner than later and 1 more that is to be determined.

As for the band, my FH wanted to use his friend's brother's band which plays primarily Rolling Stone's songs and I was worried that they don't have enough variety of music appropriate for weddings in particular slow songs. So we've fought about it and having music FH likes is FH only major demand as wedding planning goes. We're trying to go see them the next time they play somewhere to see if I like their music. The band will be happy to learn new songs, but I'm concerned that they may not be able to learn as many songs as I want in the time frame.

We getting married at the Vanderbilt Mansion. Where are you having your wedding?

So it seems we are in the same boat with this whole BP situation

Believe it or not we use to go see this rolling stones cover band once a month and my FH wanted to book them for our wedding LOL. Have you considered having a DJ and the band together?
I do know what you mean though the boys usually don't have much to say about the wedding so when they make a request you feel bad if it's not what you want but you guys will work something out and I'm sure the music will be great.

I am getting married at the Thatched Cottage, I've never been to the Vanderbilt Museum but I have seen many pictures...beautiful! I wanted to take pictures there but they charge so much money

I'm here too, June8th! I did most of the big things like hall, DJ, photo/video, dress, BM's picking their own dresses, officiant, registered for gifts, blocked hotels, wedding night hotel, invites/STD's, flowers, honeymoon, I think that's it. Do not have my veil/headpiece, make-up person, favors, BP gifts. I will probably work on these things after the new year. I am working on buying a new home so that's taking up alot of my time too.

Me too - June 13th. We have the vendors, favors, and I finally bought my dress. Still need to order the BM dresses (though I think they are all picked out) I still need my headpiece, veil, shoes, make-up (my cousin does makeup and had said she's do mine 2 years ago when we first got engaged, but I'm not sure if it still stands), hair. I had a nightmare a couple of days ago that I never finished the favors so we gave out the Hallmark datebooks they give free at the stores....I was so ****ed!!! I'm sure I'm forgetting other things.

I'm here, june6th. We have the hall, church, dress, one veil, headpiece, finished regeristring, Dj, florist, limo. photography, bubbles, half way done with bm gifts, grooms men gifts, and next week we are going to start making our favors.Were are we supposed to be? Only six months too go girls
