I just wanted to start this topic to discuss wedding planning leading to our weddings in June. Mine is June 5th in my church in Ozone Park Queens with reception @ Crest Hollow in Woodbury. I have the location, church, band & DJ. I still have to select the flowers. The music for the ceremony and the band and DJ. And, a list of about 50 other items yet to do. I'm still having trouble finalizing the guest list. At last count there was approximately 240. I'm hoping for regrets. We have to guarantee 175 for the catering hall and if we just meet that number I'd be happy. Some guests are being invited out of obligation more than anything and some are out of the country and I don't know for sure if they'll make the trip.
I'm really starting to get anxious about all the planning as I am doing this basically on my own. Well, my fiance and mother have input but it's me who's organizing everything. The expenses have soared and I've tried so hard to look for bargains and negotiate vendor prices but now it is what it is.
On top of the wedding we had water damage in my fiance's house where we both will live after the wedding and we had to gut, restore and remodel the entire master bedroom. More expenses.
I really wanted to do a kitchen renovation before the wedding but I don't know if I have it in me to go through that project with all the stress of the wedding details and honeymoon planning. I'm debating if I should just postpone the work until after wedding.
Is anyone else out there finding the planning a little stressful? I can't believe January is over already and there is still so much to be done. Only four more months until the big day.

Hey... i know what you mean! it does get stressful - i cant believe my wedding is in 89 days now! I'm the only one really doing much on my end too - with some input from my mom and some from FH too... and we live in Virginia, planning a NY wedding!! Along with our bigs costs, FH's car died all of a sudden last monday and we spent all week car shopping (wedding planning on hold) and had to buy a new car!!! It's costly, and a stressful time, but remember the big picture in the end. It's you and your FH - and it will always be the 2 of you! Its just a few months of stress and money to go, but it will be worth it in the end! If you need anything, or i can help you, feel free to FM me. Just take on one project at a time... there are certainly days that i feel 1000% overwhelmed (luckily today is not one of them), but it'll get better! Good luck to you!!!

Re: June Wedding
I guess I make the 6/5 triplet, lol.... I have all my major vendors except hair and make up and a bus. But I am starting to panic a little too. I am finding it very hard to find time to do a lot of things. I'm working full time, have physical therapy 2 nights a week, and I do hair on the side and lately that has been constant. I still have no invites, haven't decided on a favor, haven't been able to start a lot of the 'little' personal touches I want to do either. FH is great, but just addmitted this weekend, he basically 'yesses' me. Which sometimes is great, but other times is very frustrating when I need help making a decision. I also have a great bridal party, love them all to death, but whenever I ask their opinion, they say 'it's your wedding, do what makes you happy'. I am going to do what makes me happy but sometimes I need someone to say this shade looks better, this is too busy, etc, like a second pair of eyes. So I think we all are in the same boat, it's an overwhelming time, but I keep telling myself just take one thing at a time and it'll all get done.

Make me your date quadruplet
I've been ok for the most part, but because I've been doing everything gradually. We got all of the major things done in the first 4 months or so, and now it's all detail work. Every once in a while I have a bump in the road (like this morning), but there's always a solution.
Just sit down with your checklist and make yourself a timeline.

Re: June Wedding
I am a week before you and I understand what you are going through completly. Just last week FH and I sat down and made some cuts to our DJ and RH. Plus, it doesnt help that some family members have been rather difficult with the wedding planning and on top of that we are in the process of buying a house - so the stress level is just a tad bit through the roof. FH and I are stressed both emotionally and financially with everything that is going on, and we are trying to keep a positive attitude about it - but, it is hard!! We keep looking at the light at the end of the tunnel - the wedding and being married to each other. Try to keep a positive attitude...it will all work out in the end!

Re: June Wedding
I completley understand where you are coming from. I am June 5th also...I fell like drop kicking my bridesmaids and my inlaws to be....and the stress is really getting to me..mostly the money cause I went over my budget...so i understand the stress
We all have to stick together and remember that at the end of the day, we are going to have a beautiful wedding no matter what.. :)
I write myself weekly lists now to help make myself feel like I accomplished shomething each week :)

Hey! I totally know what you mean. I am pretty much done with booking all the vendors. But my future mother in law and my mother are driving me crazy. I keep trying to think that it will be all worth it but then I wish I can go back and change everything. Go to the carribean with my fiance and bring two friends and just get married out there. Ugh...the stress.
