Re: JuneBride21

Leap,

We stayed at the Pearl Resorts on both islands. In Moorea we stayed in a garden bungalow which was very nice it was right next to the pool and 3 ft from the beach. The Pearl Resort in Moorea is only 2 yrs old and wasn't very croweded at all which we found really nice. The staff at the resort waited on you left and right and were so nice and friendly. Moorea is beautiful. The only excursion we did ther was swimming w/ sharks and stingrays which was incredible and a lot of fun. The food at the resorts are very expensive. Hamburgers are 20 bucks. We only ate dinner one night at our hotel, other nights we went into town for dinner. All the restaurants picku up from your hotel and drive you back which was really nice. We ate dinner at Maghony, Alfredo's (which was my favorite restaurant in Moorea) and we also went to the Tiki Village where they cooked dinner for you and you saw a Polynesian Show.

In Bora Bora we stayed in an overwater bungalow and man that is the way to go. It was incredible. Everday we had stingrays and gorgeous fish under our coffee table. I found the Pearl Resort staff here not to be half as nice as the staff in Moorea. Also, our resort was on its own Motu (island) so to get into town we had to take a 2 minute boat ride. I personallly liked Bora Bora a lot more then Moorea. Bora Bora is paradise. The water is absolutely gorgeous. Its crystal blue. You can look down into it and see the bottom (sand). It was like stepping into bath water. The restaurants we ate at there were Bloody Mary's, Top Dive, Bamboo House and Au Cocitier. All great places. We did a lot of snorkeling in bora bora and did the 4x4 off road jeep tour that was awesome and the views from the top of the mountain was breathtaking. We also did the canoe b/fast which was fun.

My husband and I didn't realize just how expensive it was there. Everyone told us but it was more then what people told us. Just to buy a t-shirt there that says tahiti is 25.00. But we wouldn't change it for anything. We had the most incredible relaxing hm and time of our lives.

Also, there really isn't anything to do at night there. We were in bed sleeping by 10:30 and up in the morning by 7:00.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. You are going to have an amazing time.
