So Friday I went to David's bridal with the girls to look for their dresses. I was happy that they carried plus size dresses for my bm and junior bm. I told them they can get whatever dress they want as long as it's the same length, material and comes in the color I want. Well, of course the first set of chiffon short dresses looked great on all of them, but one of the styles were defective and my sister/MOH was spazzing out. They all decided to go for longer dresses which my MOH and BM looked amazing in. Now the problem is with my junior bridesmaid. The long dress looked horrible on her. It's clearly made for a women's body, and since she's only 11, she really lacks in that area. There were no other dresses in that material or length. I contemplated letting her stick with the short dress, but it's a different material and the color tends to look different on the fabric. Now her mom/bm thinks it's best she wears a long dress because she also has scariosis on her legs. What should I do? Should I let her go with a short dress while the other two girls wear long dresses? I don't know if it would look weird in the pics. Or should I continue my search for long dresses since her mom doesn't want her scariosis to show, and that way they all look coordinated? The reason why it's so hard to go on another search is because most of the boutiques here in Brooklyn don't carry plus sizes. I'd prefer not to go to LI because none of us drive and FH is not going to want to go dress shopping.
Help! I need your advice

Re: Junior bm dress drama
What if you got the Davids dress but took it somewhere for alterations for her? Would the girl herself be self conscious about her legs? If not are there age appropriate dresses in same fabric that you have seen? if shes a J-BM it might be ok to get a different kind of dress as long as the color is matched. HTH

Re: Junior bm dress drama
What about Manhattan so you don't have to drive?
What about the girl? What did she feel more comfortable in? Is SHE worried about her skin? Is she also a plus size?
LOL, my whole reply is questions, sorry

Re: Junior bm dress drama
Yes, she's plus sized as well, and she doesn't really care about her legs either. She loved the short dress and it looked really good on her. But it's also a chiffon material while the long dresses were a different material making the colors look a bit different. I don't mind going to the city at all. I went to RK bridal, but they actually didn't have much plus sized dress and I could tell my BM felt really uncomfortable with the fact. Do you know of any other places in Manhattan?

Re: Junior bm dress drama
I actually don't have any specific Manhattan suggestions, but I'm sure some of the other girls do.
As far as the material not matching, if the color is the same, the slight difference in color due to the difference in material won't be horrible with her as Jr BM. I think if she's happy in the short dress, it's all good.
