Junior Bridesmaid?

Junior Bridesmaid?

Okay so Fh's sister just called and told him that she doesn't think her 5 yr old can be a flower girl because her 8 yr old is gonig to be very upset she is being left out. Normally I would say fine make her a flower girl as well but my little cousin who is also 5 is already very excited about being a flower girl and having 3 Fg's with a bridal party of 4 is going to look way out of proportion, so now FH wants to make her a junior bridemaid but I think she is too young(correct me if i'm wrong), also we have no one around the same same to add to his side to even things out. Any suggestions on how to include her?

What are you having the bridesmaids and the flowergirls wear? If hte flowergirls are in white or a light color, can you put the eight-year-old in the same color as the bridesmaids, but in a dress similar to the flowergirl's? That's pretty much what I'm doing. I'm having four junior bridesmaids, ranging in age from fifteen years old to a ten-year-old. They're all going to wear the same color (navy) but the youngest girls will be in dresses similar to the flowergirl, who will be yearing yellow with a navy sash, while the oldest will be in a real bridesmaid's dress.

And I don't think it matters so much if you have even sides when the uneven-ness is several little girls in pretty dresses. You can send the little girls down the aisle holding each other's hands, it looks incredibly sweet.

my Flower Girl will be 2

my junior bridesmaids will be 8, 9, 9, and 11.

I am having them wear the same dress, in reverse.

the flower girl is wearing a white dress with a blue sash, and the Jr BMs are wearing blue dresses with a white sash.

almost all flower girl dresses go to kids size 14.

alfred angelo makes junior bm dresses that are the same as the regular BM dresses if thats what you want to do.

if you want to make her a jr bridesmaid, you don't have to have a jr groomsman to balance it out.

i had two jr bridesmaids. they walked together.

i had different colors and different dresses it seemed to work out.

i think i have pics in my album.

I say just use your cousin as a flowergirl and only have 1 flowergirl since your FH's sister doesnt want her daughter being in it unless the 8 year old can be in it....just keep it simple and just have the 1 flowergirl.

My jr. BM was 9 and I don't think that 8 would be too young.

I think she can be a JBM, i tgink 8 is still young , , ,
It also depends on the Bm dress u picked out.
I wouldnt want my 8 yr old daughter wearing this sexy Bm dress, ya know?
I don't THINK 8 is too old to be a FG tho. . . .

Can you have her wear something coordinating, but give her the assignment of handing out your bubbles/petals or programs?

My Jr. BM's are 8 and 9, so I think it will be okay, and our bridal party is uneven. They are wearing the same dress as the other bridesmaids (the styles I chose said available in Jr. BM dresses also) and they are walking together. They will be having different bo-ks and something different with their hair than the other girls.

HTH! Good luck!

i dont think shes too young for a jrBM either. you could always get a similar dress to the BMs but altered to be younger. my jrBM will be 13 and my FG will be 4 1/2

Shes not too young to be a jbm. And why not put her in the bp. She probably will feel left out if her little sister gets to be in it. Also you really dont need to have someone on his side to even it out. You don't need an even bridal party.

She isn't too young - I had 2 Jr Bms at 9 yrs old, and a Jr Groomsmen at 6 yrs old since i chose someone else to be ring bearer - it was very cute and worked out very nicely!

My youngest daughter (6) is my flower girl and my oldest daughter (9) will be my Jr. Bridesmaid. I will have my 9 year old walk down first before any of the other bridesmaids, and my youngest come down right before me, escorted by my nephew. FH's nephew (2) is our ring bearer.

My 12 year old SIL was my Jr Bridesmaid.

She is tiny and when we were looking for dresses, Macy's said they could alter the BM dress to fit her, but she fell in LOVE with a flowergirl dress and I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable, so that is what she wore.

Here is a picture. Obviously, she is the little one
