Junking a car...

Has anyone junked a car using one of those places that will come pick your car up for free and also pay you a small amount? ($50-100). We've had ppl from a junkyard pick up a car in the past and junk it and we paid for it..just wondering if this is a legit option (obviously we've had some winning cars )

I know you can donate it and get a tax deduction:

thanks..we were thinking of doing this but don't itemize so thought we couldn't get the deduction...
so this was option B..as long as they pick it up for us I don't care WHAT happens to it!
