Jury Duty

I didn't realize I was posting this on the Newlywed board so this is a repeat (sorry girls)...

How many times can you postpone?

I postponed once already. My company is now basically forcing me to postpone for a second time.

I'm kind of annoyed because my sister postponed and requested the date I am going, and it was approved so we were planning to go together (under my maiden name) BUT now my company is giving me a hard time and is basically leaving me with no choice but to postpone.

It's just SO annoying!!

For some reason I think it's 3. But not sure at all. I postponed it 3 times and they never came to get me.

I was just issued a summons to go . I think I postponed twice, but I didn't write in, just never showed. I'll either go or write in this time. I just have to call the number and get the proper address. this stinks.

I could be wrong but I beleive its three times...it may even be just once...HOWEVER...you're company CANNOT give you a problem if you were called again...its the law...they can't tell you to postpone...its DEFINATELY against the law...and they (you're company) knows this

Exactly, they can get in a lot of trouble for this.

i think its twice, but your company cant make you postpone, they have to let you go and have to pay you for it!

i thought it was once. check the nys jury website, not sure of the official site address. your company cannot force you to do anything!! ~lacey

i was told by them that you could only postpone once and the next time you received a summons you had to go, no matter what. i think it's pretty unfair of your company to force you into postponing....they aren't supposed to give you a hard time about these things..
