I had to do telephone stand by for a day but then I was called... I sat in the main room for like 3 hours until they called me and a bunch of other people in to a room and said, 'Ok you can go home now.' Hahah

hate to tell you...you can no longer get out of it. You can postpone it to another date but sooner or later you have to go. If you pick a holiday week there is a high chance you will never get your # called. Judges do not schedule trials on holiday weeks.

I think my number will be called for friday and dont want to go. Im the solo provider for my son and I and I get paid crap for jury duty. I know I can use my son's birth certificate and all to get but, it doesnt always work.

you have to be racist, biased, and hate everyone. my friend had to go & it was a case regarding a taxi who hit some girl and when the lawyers started asking her questions during the interview she told them that taxi drivers can't drive and blah blah blah. they told her she can go home cause they have to use someone who has an opened mind.

They changed the jury rules and you can no longer use the sole caregiver. But if you think you are going to be called on Fri. you probably won't. THey over pick the numbers and never get to all of them.....GOOD LUCK...i'm praying to the jury gods for you.

Thank you, Im getting sick to my stomach thinking about it. I feel like telling them if they pick they better pay for my gas since I wont be able to afford these prices with the no pay we get.

I just went two weeks ago. For me it was great because I got out of work and I had tons of things to read for school. Plus, I was even able to go on computers they had to check out this website!

I think in the beginning they ask if there is anyone that has childcare issues and you go up there and maybe prove it and get dismissed but I'm not sure.

I have a letter from my boss stating I leave everyday to pick up my son, we'll see.

If you donate blood you can get out of it. They usually ask you if you want to donate bloode before it starts. If you say yes, you go and donate blood and rest for a bit and they usually send you home.

Its really not that bad. Ive actually done it twice. I was called for a case and went in the next day and it was settled by 11:00 and had the rest of the day off. The second time I didnt get picked and it was for a murder trial. Its really interesting to me

I know one of my friends at work said she would take my place if she could. She loves doing it. I stress about having to do it with the money and my son. Not looking foward to it at all.

I had the telephone stand by but thenkfully never called. I used school as an excuse to get out of it years ago.
