Just a bad day... UPDATE UPDATE

I am not the type to write this but I just need to get it off my chest.

My boss was a fiesty woman and she wanted to leave, so before she had a chance to find a job, they gave her a date.
Now I worked very closely with her and she told me that most likely I'll be filling her position. So long story short, they hired a guy with no experience to fill her position and I got stuck doing his work while he made the big bucks.

While the new guy came in, the chief of staff, kicked me to the curb and put in an office to get me out of the way. I had no place to sit, no work and brought down my morale to 0.

Meanwhile, I started my own job hunting and I was waiting on an offer which I finally got. I never told them about this because I didn't want them to fire me before I had the other job in my hand. So finally I got the job and my new agency told me to start in a week's time. It's a higher pay and higher position, closer to my house and stuff.

So I told the guy who replaced my boss that next monday I'm starting my job and I need 2 days to finish my all loose ends with them. He took it back to the chief of staff who told me that since I didn't give them any notice, she will force today to be my last day and take the next 4 days off.

I am upset, because these people are so fcuked up.. and now they tell that not Friday, but today will be my last day and I have to give in a letter of resignation. Why is that some people never ever ever get what they deserve and get away by being so mean and cruel.

I start with my new agency tomorrow.. I'm so excited!! I called HR at the new agency and the lady said 'you can start tomorrow' which is what I needed and wanted!!! So now there is no break in my service either!!! yay!!

Sounds to me like a blessing in disguise. Take it easy the next 4 days. Eff 'em! Sounds like they didn't deserve the notice you gave them anyway... they'll suffer without you!

all I can say is think of it as a blessing that you are out of there. Atleast you gave them somewhat of a notice you could have just never went back. people are so ridiculous. Oh well let them clean up whatever you were gonna fisnish up for them! You have a new job now I wouldnt even look back!

They are telling you to leave before the date you wanted to leave. You should be able to get unemployment. I know someone who was able to. It's kinda like they are firing you.

Dont worry, you are moving on to something better!!

It's their loss! Don't take it to heart... they are just pissed that they are losing a great employee. Use these couple of days off to relax and get ready for your new job!

Ok, I just called my new agency and they are going to see if I can start sooner than Monday. If I can then, I will!! I hate sitting at home, I'll go insane.

If I don't then, I will give in my resignation as of Feb 29. I hate them all..

I work for the City, so I'll be in Downtown Manhattan

why continue being aggrevated and stressed over there anyway- sounds like they are all made for eachother and you were too good to work for them- better that you are leaving I am so glad that you found something that sounds so much better

exactly what i was thinking!! why would you want to give those nasty people any more of your time? PLEASE don't let people like that get to you...

and i'm so happy and excited for you about your new job!! good luck and let us know how it goes. and enjoy the next few days off...don't even THINK about those A-holes for a minute.

Are they paying you for the rest of this week? If so - sleep in! Go shopping! Get a massage! I don't like sitting at home either, but I could definitely find things to fill 4 days. ENJOY IT!!!!

Wow, I'm sorry you had to go through that! It seems to me like you are too good for that old job! They weren't treating you the way you deserve! Consider yourself lucky that you found a new place!

thank you so much ladies.. it's 7;30 and I am up and running around my house.. I'm usually at work at this time..

I know in the long run, I'll be much happy that I did it.. I've been with for a year now, and I am one of the 2 senior most staff with them, besides the big boss and her asst. crony..

I've seen so many of the old timers leave, but there was a lot of friction as well.. in my case, I had my own little staff and projects and meeting so we never really on each other's throat b/c they respected my ideas on budget.. in the past year i took one day off.. the friday before my engagement party.. i was so dedicated..

i wish they would fall flat on their face.. it's a lesson learned..

I am hoping to, my new job said they'll call me today to see if I can start early..
