Just a few questions - please help

Only three weeks and four days to go and I have a million things to do. I was hoping someone could help with the following: Hotel Info: Most of my responses have come in and I was thinking about sending hotel info to those who are traveling. How do I do this? I wasn't able to block rooms so should I just send local hotel info in an envelope. Should I include a personal note? Help. Programs - can someone recommend a website that has a very thorough breakdown of what should be included. I want to include each reading (written out) and do not have an outline to go by. Flowers - is anyone preserving their flowers? Can you recommend a good place to have them done? Finally, I am making rose petal cones and have no idea what to pack them in. I want to put them in something that will keep them standing when they are full and i do not know what to use. Sorry my questions are all over the place but I desperately need help.

Just a few questions - please help

Hi, Good luck with all your last minute details. Hotels: You could ask your guests where they are staying and deliver welcome packages with instructions to the hotel to present them upon check in. Programs: This website was posted a while back and I believe it has a program template: www.yourweddingday.com Sorry, I have no suggestions for the flowers. Hope this helps. Christine

Just a few questions - please help

I would presume that with only a month away, the guests who would require hotels have already booked them. But, it would be a nice touch to send them hotel info. However, since you have so much to do, just prepare a single letter to all of your travelling guests, telling them what's available in the area, and that you were unable to block any rooms so they have to call themselves (you might be able to block rooms now, with all the cancellations going on), and then at the end of the letter, tell them how much you're looking forward to seeing them on the BIG DAY.... Don't know about the other two questions, sorry. Good luck, and enjoy this last month!!!

Rose Petal Cones

I made these and had the florist fill them and deliver them to the church-- they put them in large baskets with handles and they all stood up together but I am sure as they were given out they started to fall ;-) Laura

Rose Petal Cones

You could try using floral foam (with appropriately sized holes) or sand (but that would make it very heavy) at the bottom of a nice container. That way they won't fall over when people take them

Some info for you

First of all, congrats on finishing almost all of your stuff so early. To answer some of your questions: Hotels: You should prepare a letter with hotel names/address/phone number along with a basic map of the area. Flowers: Speak to your Florist or go to Michael's Craft Store. The women beyond the flower counter might know how to help you. There is a way to do it. You can also check on Martha Stewart's site for instructions. Ulimatewedding.com has a whole section about programs. Also the Knot might be able to help. Rose Petal Cones- I have seen a large basket used. You can get one for a good price at Michaels. I hope this helps you out. Good Luck with your big day.

Programs

I did mine in word. I will be happy to email you the format if you give me your email address. I included a listing of the bridal party, ceremony order and each of the readings. I used 2 pages of 8.5 x 11 paper folded in half to make a 5.5 x 11 booklet. I punched one hole on the fold about 1 inch up from the bottom of the booket and tied a thin ribbon through to hold everything together.

Programs

I also did our programs in Word, and loved the way they turned out. We used the single-fold type, and included the readings in ours. Luckily we were able to keep it down to just one single page and didn`t have to worry about binding pages together. I`m sure I still have the format I used. If you`d like, I could email it to you, just email me with your address if you`d like. [email protected] You might also want to check with the person who will be doing your ceremony. Not all ceremonies have the same order of service. Our pastor gave us a sample to go by, then after we made a master copy, we brought it down for him to check over, and he loved it, so we knew we were good. Good Luck & Best Wishes!

RE: Programs

Thanks everyone for the great advice. The basket for the cones is a great idea!!! I can do a lot with that. Since I have someone handing them out, I think it will do just fine. Fran & Kel - I would REALLY appreciate it if you could e-mail me your formats. I would be forever grateful. [email protected] Thanks again to all. 3 weeks & 3 days - yikes!!!

Programs

Hi Fran, I too am in the process of making up our prgrams on my home computer. I am looking to use a Wor dtemplate as well, and to make a bookelt style like you mentioned you did. Could you send me your format so that I can have a template to work with? My email address is [email protected]. My wedding isn't until May, but since we have already finished Pre Cana and have the readings and music picked out, I'd like knock off one more thing so I have less to do in the end. Thnaks so much!
