Just be aware that there are a lot of little snakes running through the bushes here! I am talking about fakes!!!

I spoke with a vendor today who said that I obviously had been checking up on him bc he saw my post on a chat line. This the only chat line I participate in. Then he said that you got a good answer, right!

well duh it must have been him answering. Its a shame you can't get truthful info all the time. How could you possibly decifer between a real bride and a snake!

Unfortunately, i'm sure that happens alot. we all just have to be careful.

I had a vendor completely go crazy because I said that he was Ok but not right for me. He sent me FM like crazy and when I posted a message alerting girls to the problem (didn't post vendor name - just the situation of a vendor harrassing me and said they could FM for more info) - my post was deleted. Many other girls said the vendor did the same thing to them too.

In case you haven't noticed - any negative posts on here that mention a vendor who advertises are promptly deleted!!!

Just about every vendors who advertises here or buys our info from LIWeddings insist that negative comments be deleted and it is doen promptly.

If you want an objective opinion - you have to use FM or email. Posts are supplements to ads because only the praises make it through.

There are sooo many vendors on here so sometimes it's best to stay anonymous - in name, wedding date and even your venue. Kind of stinks but lots of vendors threaten to take brides to court for damages if you post something negative so be careful with what you post (and obviously what you read).
It's sad because it defeats the purpose of these boards for the brides and becomes a way for vendors to advertise in a very deceptive way.

Its not free speech to give your opinion on a vendor? People write restaurant reviews and publish it in the paper for the world to see! It makes me not trust this board anymore if they are infact doing that.

That's horrible to know! I've been basing a lot of my decisions on places and people I want to look at and talk to through reviews I read on here. Otherwise, I wouldn't know where to begin. It's scary to think it's all a load of &$^%*%($!!!

That makes me sooooooooo mad. If the vendors do a great job they do not have to worry about checking this site. So you vendors--leave us alone!!!!

With negatives we have to be careful on what we write. Their is a fine line between negative and bashing.

I wrote about a company I saw and how I was unhappy. I wrote what happened and what I saw. I did not mention the name as I didnt want to worry anyone who may have been using that specific vendor but if anyone wanted to know to FM me. My post was not pulled.

Their are however girls who will bash a specific vendor and say things like they looked drunk, their clothes were ugly, their office was messy, i had to wait 20 minutes and that was a waste, etc...and that is wrong and that gets pulled.

We can write how we are not happy, but its the choice of words we use that has an effect if our post gets pulled.

As for vendors posting as brides, it does happen. Their is nothing we can do about it. We just have to be careful.

Also just remember that sometimes a thread gets pulled because of drama it causes not because of the review. I gave a fair review of someone I went to and it was pulled because it is easy for brides to get defensive of their own vendors and start freakin.
We all do it and its completely understandable since you picked them and put money into them.
That's not to say sometimes the threads that do get pulled aren't biased to people who advertise on this website. I don't think my thread would have gotten pulled if the person wasn't on here, but oh well. As long as you are active and don't recommend them to anyone, it has a similar effect than a bad review. If vendors are providing a good service to everyone but one person- then a bad review shouldn't matter to them enough to pull it, but apparently thats JMO.
