JUST A HEADS UP for anyone using CLEAR LABELS!

After 10 of the 63 STDs I mailed were returned to me, I went to the postmaster at my local P.O.

Some of the clear labels were DESTROYED in the mail machines!

The postmaster explained that the texture of the clear label is different than that of a white label, and they peel off/smudge/get caught much more easily - especially if the mailing is thick! (like an STD, wedding invite, etc.)

So PLEASE be careful - i noticed that a few people in the other thread said they plan on using clear labels- I'd hate to have someone go through what I'm dealing with now, only with their wedding invites!

I plan on printing my wedding invite envelopes in a script font - no labels!!!

Mine WERE hand cancelled.
Its the barcode machine that causes the problem. Every piece of mail goes through the barcode machine.

I'm still trying to figure out who didn't get one yet.

If you want to use clear labels, and avoid a problem, just deliver your invites or STDs to the post office and have them hand cancelled.

I used clear labels for both my invites and my thank you cards and did not have a problem.

Thanks so much I was going to use clear for the invites... but thought that the labels were a little too thin... oh boy I can only imagine how in the world I'll get the envelope into the printer thanks again for the heads up... sorry that happened.

Thanks but we are handwritting over here to each envelope add a personal touch, my BM has great script handwriting, so Im putting them to work.

Did you print your clear labels at home? I've found that I can only print them on my work printer. I'm pretty sure that the printer in my office is a laser printer and that's really the only thing that will keep the ink on that kind of label. I used clear labels for my STDs and I didn't have a problem with them.
