Just a note about recommended vendors

When RH's recommend vendors take it with a grain of salt. Almost every one that does this gets a kick-back from the vendor and that inflated price is passed on to you, the bride. I suspected this was the case but it was confirmed by 3 of my vendors. I'm thrilled that my venue is among two which does not charge their recommended vendors anything to do business with. Just because someone is on a list doesn't mean they're the best fit for you. Most RH's charge 10-15% and a BIG LI one charges 20%. Just a tip

i agree. and watch out for those RH's that require you to use their house vendors. Its a ridicukous scheme to m ake more money off of us just because they pay to be on a list.

That's why I didn't go with any house vendors I'd rather pay for them to eat then pay more for their services.

im only going with one and its the photographer but with my RH its not really a 'house' vendor they just recommend a couple and don't get anything from the vendors because its such a small place.

but i totally agree with you guys def have to watch out with vendors from your RH.

No house vendors for me either, I feel like you really have to question every 'deal' presented to you when wedding planning

We didn't use any house vendors either. My place doesn't give a discount for eating plus there was a major markup.

The RH we are planning to book has no house vendors! I felt that took off some pressure and was a pleasant surprise

ETA: Forgot to mention it's the Milleridge Cottage - surprising b/c they have shops right next door!

The Milleridge is EXCELLENT! Your wedding will be amazing, trust me! As for required vendors, Milleridge doesnt do them, but be careful at the other places ladies. Some are so expensive and they flat out stink. Read your hall contract carefully.

the only recommeded vendor that used was my florist... they were amazing...

but every other vendor was more expensive than the vendors that i went with

AHHH I just looked at ur pics.... I am so excited! We fell in love with the Milleridge and FH said he wanted a fireplace behind us b4 we even saw it. I love that you put pics & ur plaque on the mantle, that's a great idea!
