Rita posted a question on the '09 board about stamps. I replied on it with my suggestion, and figured it would be helpful for all of us 10'ers too
I just bought 300 of the Forever stamps. The postage rate is going up again in either April or May, but the Forever stamps are always going to be valid. I spent about $126 on all of them, and I plan to use them for STD's, thank yous after the shower, and thank yous after the wedding. Just a thought to save money in the future. I may actually end up ordering more anyway, and use them for my Christmas cards too.

Its a good idea, but they dont really have any weddingy (I know not a real word) stamps... It is like the liberty bell and something else... I dont know if that even makes a difference...
its good for rsvp's but wont work with most wedding invitations since they usually weight more than an ounce. Most wedding invitations are .58 cents or .64 cents or even higher in alot of cases. The forever stamp just replaces those that normally are now .42. So for the main invite you can use the wedding stamps, but its a good idea to use this for rsvp envelope

yeah i know i should save some money but i like the wedding stamps...so i will probably wait
I think we're waiting for this reason.... if you go to their web site you can see the ones they offer in the forever stamps... Not something Colleen wanted on a wedding invitation...
I agree, definitely not something I want on the invitation. But my invitations will need higher postage anyway.
I bought these for the less formal mail....STD's, thank you cards, etc.

Forever stamps will save me $4 for the invites - is it worth it?

For the invites? Are you sure? Forever stamps are only good for mail at the 1 ounce letter rate. Aren't your invites going to be heavier?

hmmmmm - I don't know. They are 5X7 pocketfold's. Will have ribbon and a clasp - but it feels light to me? Maybe 2 stamps will be enough? So if I use 2 stamps per invite I will save $8.

I'd say your best bet is to weigh it and find out. If you have a food scale at home, you can weigh it (in ounces) then to to the USPS website and figure out how much it's going to cost you to send. Or you could bring them to the post office and ask.
