Just a thought about registering...

I have read posts about some ladies on here feeling funny about registering because they feel like they are asking for gifts ....but look at it this way....
you are saving people time and and effort ..making it easy for them.... most people like registries and if they don't they won't buy something on it

but it makes it easy because they don't have to go fishing for a gift worrying if you want or need it (or have it already)

peopel want to buy you things that are useful rather than waste their money

I totally agree with what you're saying, but it doesn't change the fact that FH and I felt funny about it. I'm sure that part of it is that we live together and feel like people may think we have everything and are just asking for new things, which is partially true. I guess ultimately, it's up to them to decide what to buy us, the registry is just a guideline.

I felt really funny too, untill FI's aunt said ( after giving us an engagement gift) listen, I give friends and family friends gifts all year round, there will always be registering, now its your turn, you;vce bought from registeries and not felt weird buying someone a gift, or felt like they were asking you for a gift, so why feel weird now.....simple as that, and it eased my mind a little when I thought of it that way...

We also felt funny about it. In fact my registry only has about 8 items on it because of that. I feel odd asking people to buy me things that cost hundreds of dollars.

Since we also live together, we basically have all the cheapie stuff already!

you will still get presents that you didn't register for and might not like them but people would rather give you soemthing they know you want!
