I just want to remind all the ladies about what happens when we start posting information about vendors.
If we have a problem, we use this board for help, but if we 'leave out' vital information which would lean us to make a decision against a vendor, that's just plain wrong and in bad taste.
When posting, remember that vendors cannot defend themselves to us and when we start posting things that are just plain untrue, we are hurting people's businesses. Would we want someone spreading false things about us, being the wonderful, helpful and considerate people we are? No
I say this because I am stuck on both sides of the fence and I see it as being VERY UNFAIR. I am not going to say who, what, when, where or why, so please don't ask, but I'm sure you can figure it out if you try.
Just remember, there are a lot of vendors out there, and someone for everyone, and also remember, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
I wish you all the best in your planning, and do not mean any disrespect to anyone.

Re: Just a vent
well if its lies, i totally agree
but i hate when we scare brides from telling us the raw truth about a vendor.
I need to hear all the good and bad about each experience so that i can judge with my own experiences whether or not to choose that vendor.

Re: Just a vent
Lying is just plain wrong... Keep in mind, a lot of times, there are vendors on here posing as brides. They promote their business and give unfair expectations. Brides, or any consumer, shoudl be aware that sometimes people have unfair expectations of vendors and take all opinions with a grain of salt. I wish there had been more info on some vendors when I was looking.

I feel that everyone should post their opinions but doing it in a tactful way. There is a vendor for everyone but I think this is an open forum and everyone needs to voice their opinions either good or bad. It is just that when it is a bad opinion especially if the person has dealt with that vendor that it is phrased in a way that is tactful and that it leaves room for the others to make their opinions and decisions if they want to contact their vendors. I'd like the hear the good and the bad as well. It is up to ME to make the decision if I'm using a vendor or not. I'll keep in mind what it was posted but I ultimately make the decision. JMO

I understand this whole thing about lying, but I truly like to hear the bad and the good. Everyone has their own opinions and its good to hear bad sometimes just so you know what to look out for.

Re: Just a vent
I think the most important reason that people come to this website is to read what fellow brides have to say about vendors, GOOD and BAD.
As a precaution, I recommend always double-checking the information you read on these posts with the person that posts it (via FM or something) before making your mind up about a particular vendor.
I think that my precaution is a better solution than censoring fellow brides' opinions, even if I don't agree with them.
What really angers me is when vendors pose as brides and bad-mouths their competition. That I would definitely p--- me off!!

i agree.. anything good or bad i have read about a vendor, i basically called them out on it and let them give me their side of the story (whether or not i believed it to be true). I think its fair for both sides to state what happened.

I do agree that one person's personal experiences with vendors will not be the same as others. Keeping that in mind, if you have a strong opinion of a vendor, keep it personal and offer any of that information in the form of FM. That is why the feature is there on this site. To have this service of brides helping brides is a privilege, not an obligation to spoil someone's livelihood.
