If too long to read: I think my shower date was spoiled.

So I currently live in Raleigh NC. I make a lot of trips home to Long Island for wedding planning and family things, and my mom uses her southwest points for my flights.

Anyway, I am supposed to come up to babysit my infant nephew during my spring break...I looked at prices and they are very expensive. The cheapest time to leave is on a Saturday. Well, my mom calls because she is trying to book the trip and for some reason will not allow me to leave on this Saturday. She is talking about these crazy prices and crazy hours of the day for me to leave on Sunday and it dawned on me...that is probably my shower date!

Im so mad, not at her, just that I always have to think too much! I am never surprised! My engagement was hardly a surprise (only that very moment). So now I know I am going to be all weird trying to make it look like I don't think its that day. Most of all I'm mad that I could have spoiled this for my mom and sister who would be hosting... ughh.

I would say not to think too much into it. Something similar happened to me recently - FH texted me 'the only date I can't do is 2/8.' I texted him back seconds after, 'What? If you just ruined something for me I'm gonna kill you' He meant to text that to his BM as to what dates he couldn't do for his bach party, but in my head I was like well he can't do that date because that's probably when my shower is and he has to be there. But FH texted me back that the date wasn't an option bc one of his closest friend's birthdays is that day and he wouldn't be able to come, which is true.

I also am not looking at my registry so I can't tell if things are being purchased so I have NO idea! I'm hoping that FH wasn't lying but I can't help but think he spoiled it.

Either way, don't think about it too much because it will ruin everything for you!! Even if it is that day, you don't know for sure because nothing has been confirmed so just take it as it comes. Maybe they are trying to make you think it's that day because they know you are always onto their surprises!

I do the same thing, over thinking everything. But, my MOH has planned things LITERALLY right under my nose before and I had no idea. Because she doesn't act sneaky. As soon as someone starts acting 'off' in anyway, my mind starts going and I can't stop it.
Try and put it out of your head (easier said than done, I know) and def don't let on that you suspect anything. No matter what, even if that is your shower day, you'll have a fabulous time, and it'll be something you can laugh about with them when it's all over.

I thunk I know my date too..which I think is 3/8.. my moh text me saying I am not saying anything but are there any weekends you are busy in March besides the wedding.. Then mh bridesmaid said picking a date for the shower was not fun so I have a feeling since I am busy 3/1,3/8 is my shower..unless they totally throw me off and its the next few weeks or a Sunday in Feb. since I know Saturdays are booked for bp. Dont over think it and do try to be suprised the girls are tryjng the best they can for us we need to remember they just want it to be special
