Just a vent... (UPDATED)..

So Ive been having a bad week at work. Im so blah I dont even feel like getting into why. Its such a long story. So Im hating my job. Then FH calls me today at work to tell me he got laid off. Just great! We are paying for our wedding, Christmas is around the corner and as we all know the bills dont stop coming in EVER!! FH's an electrician in the union and work has been slow. This has happened before but not at a crucial time like now. They say he should be back to work in possibly a month or so and in the mean time he collects unemployment but its just bad, bad timing and Im feeling a lil depressed as Im sure he is too!

Sorry to bore anyone but just needed to get it out

Well one thing makes me happy! I should be at my 1000th post by the time I get off the computer tonight!!


FH is back to work as of the 26th of this month!! YAY!!! BUT he is going to look for another job b/c I cant take this laid off not laid off crap. It makes me crazy! So he will be looking for something with more security but still in his field of electric.

it'll all work out. Everyone I think goes through tough times particularly during this wedding planning stuff but there's always a way it seems.

Aw, I sorry. Keep the faith, it will work out....he'll be back to work before you know it!!

don't stress, these things have a way of working themselves out. i'm sure there will be work for him again soon keep your chin up!

I'm sorry about all this. Why does your FH think he wont find work for a month? Because of your financial situation he should be vigorously looking.

His union will find him his next job in another electrical shop. There are a few other guys ahead of him in line so he has to wait his turn. thats why in the mean time he collects. He bounces at a bar at night too so he just picked up an extra night there also to help.

he's with local 3? they say it's getting better and as of next year no lay off's or furloughs. I am in local 3 but not an electrican. my dad and brother are electricans

No he is Local 25 (Long Island). I WISH Local 3 b/c then he would at least have furlough.
