Just booked a hall :)

So I've been reading other peoples posts for the past couple of weeks, but this is my first one. I just booked Fox Hollow and absolutely fell in love with the place. They only had one date left in the timeframe I wanted, so I booked much quicker than I expected. (Got the ring on Friday, booked a place on Tuesday, but I knew it was coming so I've been doing my research).

I am so excited that I actually have a wedding date, so I'm just gonna bask in that for a little while, but I know there is still a lot to do. I'm not sure what needs to come next. Someone said book the dj quick, everything else can wait. Then someone else told me to book the photographer quick, and wait on the dj. I have less than a year so I'd love some input from other brides.

IMO since its the only visual(s) you'll have, I'd say look into photographer and videographer (if you're having one) next. Good luck!

And no to the preferred. go with what you LIKE! check out websites for portfolios, email for pricing, then make meetings with at least 3-4!

DJ is important too so thats a close 2nd. but they have more than one MC to choose from usually so you should be OK

If you want engagement photos, book photographer first. That was my main priority.
Also, since you are in the busy wedding season, you can't really procrastinate too much.

I might be the odd one out but I researched video, photo, limo & dj all at the same time so I could collectively budget them. I needed to know round about pricing for each one before I signed contracts with anyone but that may just be me.

I wouldn't worry about if they are preferred or not. Def take a look at them though. Sometimes RHs preferred vendors give discounts so def doesn't hurt to check it out. But ultimately, I'd go with whoever you like whether they are preferred or not.

Book Photographer first...you are going to be looking at your wedding photos the rest of your life.

There are a ton of DJ you can research later!
