Just bought The South Beach Diet book today!

I'm going to start reading it tonight. I was on my lunch hr so I didn't have too much time to read through it, but noticed the back has a ton of recipes

They advertise losing your belly first and that's by far my worst area - I hope they're right!!!

I'll let you all know how it goes

i bought the book last week, skipped to the diet, and have been reading it straight through since. So far, its been easy (food wise) but I did have wine this weekend. My clothes feel a little looser, esp around the belly, and my scale has moved 5 lbs.
I HAVE NOT BEEN HUNGRY AT ALL

thanks stace!

Dublin - that is so good to hear! I refuse to 'starve' myself for any reason and I know that won't last, so that's good to hear that you're not hungry. Protein fills you up but I just need to get more recipes and try new things that have more protein and less carbs

Dubliner - did you skip the background info and go right to the recipes?

Erica - I'll have to check out that link....

Thanks Stacey & Christine!!! Hope it works :)

I started reading this last night and I'm already hooked. It's a fairly slow read but very interesting, which is surprising considering all of that medical talk. He explains it in an interesting and understandable way though. I also want to be sure I understand the background and creation of the diet in the first place, before I actually start it.

The first two weeks will be a bit more difficult for me since I don't eat many types of meats....that and the snacking. Without fruits or veggies what can you really snack on throughout the day? He mentions string cheese but not a HUGE fan. I'll have to wait til I finish the book before really starting this though - but so far I love it!
