just call me Shamu...

just call me Shamu...

UGH!!!!!

I have never been so hurt and upset. I swear, sometimes my husband can be the most INSENSITIVE A$$HOLE ever!!!

I just bought a maternity denim skirt from JCPennys.com. I love it and wore it with a sweater to my baby shower at work on Tueday. I thought I looked good.

Yesterday I wore jeans and a cute shirt to work because we didn't have to dress up. Well, DH came home from work, and after we ate the yummy meal that I had just slaved over the stove for, looks at me and says, 'Wow, you look SO much thinner today. Yesterday you looked like a huge whale in that outfit.'

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

I almost died right there. Here I was, thinking I looked okay, and I had been the center of attention in front of 40 people, INCLUDING people I haven't seen in almost a year (from my old job) and NOW I find out that I looked horrible?! Oh my god!!!

I think I cried for at least an hour...actually I am still crying right now because I cannot get over the fact that he actually said that to me. He doesn't even realize what he did to my self esteem. UGH!!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent ladies!

I agree. Men can be so mean and rude. You should have herd some of the things Rob said to me. I just cried and cried. Make him get you ice cream for being a meanie. Tell him I am keeping OUR baby warm in here so you be nice or I will let the hormones run..... I bet you looked so nice. I would love to see pics. Dont worry beautiful one.

your hubby

Doesn't he know what not to say to a woman....let alone a very pregnant woman....a very pregnant woman with hormones a raging!!

I hope he learned his lesson. Sorry you were so upset, that was insensitive although Im sure he was just clueless.

If it's any consolation, I bet I looked like Fudgie to whale compared to you, I'm sure I started out heavier than you from what I can tell from your headless preggy shots.

I bet you looked great! And I'm sure all your coworkers and friends were thinking how beautiful you look. Hugs from someone in the know, another woman who's been there.

If you DH doesn't get a clue, let us know and we'll all come and smack him around with dirty diapers. My boy is on solid food now so that can be really really ugly. LOL

tell his mom and his sisters what he said. That will really teach him a lesson! Or better yet, tell him we voted him 'most insenstive guy of the day'

I bet you looked beautiful!

I am sure you looked beautiful!! All pregnant women are beautiful!! to you and to him!

He owes you an ice cream sundae and a back rub!!!

Don't stress your little one out, try not to be too upset and know that you are doing an amazing thing with your body -- he's just jealous!!

Melissa I feel so bad that your hubby said such an insensitive thing to you.

Men just don't understand what it's like to live your whole life being concerned about your appearance, and how much more difficult it becomes during and after pregnancy. Most men have clear heads - they don't dwell on any one topic for very long.

I hope you have expressed to him HOW MUCH he's hurt you with his comment. When I was PG, my hubby also made a very insensitive comment to me. I was devastated. I have forgiven him, of course. But, it still really *stings* when I think about something so hurtful coming out of his mouth and directed at me.

Keep your chin up! From the pics that I've seen of your beautiful belly, you look wonderful pregnant. He doesn't know what he's talking about!
