just called wedding salon in manhassett

they told me my designer increased prices by 15% !!!!!! ***????

i dont know what to do, i really dont believe a company would raise prices a. in the BIGGEST RECESSION EVER b. why would they increase prices on 2006 dress??? and why would a store during such rough economic times even say that to a customer who can go elsewhere with that kind of business , if they really did increase prices why would you risk losing the sale for 200-300 bucks???

now I am disgusted with this store and want to go elsewhere with my business...grrr i am frustrated, are the dress gods telling me something?? is my dress not the one ??

i was only told by 1 store that i had to order the dress quickly bc by a certain date, the desiger was going to raise prices on all the gowns... i thought it was a sales pitch kinda thing...

Yeah, that just doesnt sound right (and pretty sh*tty). I would look elsewhere. Don't nix the dress just b/c the store is greedy!

That really stinks. The store should have known about this and told you BEFORE it happened. This would really leave me with a bad taste in my mouth.

I was just thinking, price the dress at other stores-I would think they'd want to keep the sale and match the lowest price.
Since you've already tried the dress on and know the style name and designer, why don't you check ebay, preownedweddingdresses.com, bridepower.com? You could get it online at a better price I'm sure.

i would def price dress everywhere and see what best deal you can get.

I think its ridiculous esp with the recession going on.

Feel free to FM me if you need help/ideas where to price around

Who is your designer/dress style?

Its true...we had a bunch of price increases...this is not a case of store owners trying to make more money...the prices have gone up..I know this because i had to look at the lists and retag dresses...im so sorry that happened though. Do your research and see where you can get the best deal!

I was told the same thing last year by a few bridal stores I went to and it was true. Every year the designers raise their prices. You can find out for sure by going to the actual designers website and sending them an email inquiring about this price hike.

If you don't mind me asking, who is the designer? I got my KP gown at the wedding salon and they offered me a cheaper price than Kleinfelds. I'm surprised that they would raise their prices so much unless they were telling the truth.

Have you put a deposit on the dress already? Because if you did I figured that would secure the dress price even if prices went up. Try to shop around for a better price. What is the name of the designer? I can help you by checking the prices at some of the stores in brooklyn.
