Just came back from my FOCUS test

me and my fH took the FOCUS questionaire tonight. some of those questions are really weird. over 150 questions! we go over it next week. did anyone else have to take this thing??

I took it - its hysterical. FH and I did well on it - the Pastor was a little upset that we scored high on the 'Sexual Relationship' part of it

its a 'questionaire' that you take when you get married in a cathlic church for your precana. it asks you questions about you and your future spouse to make sure you are 'compatable'

So how do you think you did?
Are you allowed to get married still if either of you fail? Can you fail? (I'm not catholic)

it just sparks discussion on the issues that you might not of discussed before and if there are alot - it may make a couple rethink their decision to get married. the lady who gave us the questionaire said that it has happened before

Then they sit there and tell you what areas you need to work on - my Pastor said in the umpteen years he's been doing this he's only refused to marry a couple twice.....once b/c the FH was an alcoholic and the other beat his wife........

you can't fail - its just to see if you have discussed certain issues - no biggy

FH and I took that!!! Some of the questions were too funny!
When it came time for us to have them reviewed we left the reviewing couple stumped. FH and I answered most of the 'church' questions the same answer but it wasn't the answer the church was looking for!
All in all I think its a good way to touch on topics that normally aren't brought up! I know my boss broke off his engagement because of the test.It was for the best.

My aunt and uncle in FL were told that they werent compatible and shouldnt marry..They are now married 14 years! LOL

I loved the statement, 'Pregnancy is a part of our lives at this time.'

Do they really trip people up with that one?
Does one person say yes and the other says no?
I don't think the FOCCUS form is the way to let the cat out of the bag.

We didn't even know what they meant at first but this was easier than a lot of the other questions. They were worded very strangely.

We both responded Undecided to the statement that our children will be raised Catholic. (by the way - we are not really undecided - they probably won't be since FI is Hindu)

I've been afraid to drop off the form. What do you think the priest will say??

the priest did make me sign some form saying I would raise my kids Catholic but didn't tell me what I was signing - he covered it up and I saw the words through his fingers after I signed.
i figured if it was important to him - he would have mentioned it instead of covering up the paragraph stating the 'rules'

I have heard funny stories from my friends that have taken it. I haven't done it yet. Some questions are hard to interpret. Should be a good laugh!!

We went through pre-cana and never had to take the test or ever heard it mentioned. I guess not all catholic churches do that!??? Lucky for us!

My husband and I scored off the board on that test in every catagory!! Especially the Sexual Relationship one!!

Our Pastor said she wouldnt discuss that with us!!
