Just can't shake this feeling

Hi ladies,

I am so down, fh is a police officer in the city. He works midnights. The po who was killed this week has hit home on so many levels. For his daughters, for his parents, I am just at a loss. He is ebing waked in west babylon, I was at my parents house in west Islip and took the souther n state home a little but ago and the east bound side was a mess. All I could think about was are those people going to his wake. I am a social worker and can disconnect but this situation is my worst nightmare and I can't seem to shake it. I almost feel crazy holding onto this feeling.

i completely understand your feeling and it is not crazy to hold on to this feeling. I have two of my best friends working as cops in the city and FH is a cop in a bad city in NJ. It plagues me EVERY NIGHT when he goes to work.

My heart drops every time I hear something about a police officer.

Here for you!!!

Death is hard to deal with in general especially when you have a love one in a very dangerous job.....Ill pray that he is kept safe!.... I am a nurse and I try to dettach also when nightmares occur. But a month my co worker passed away suddenly from a heart acttack. She was a fit 50 year old women, she ran the marathon she ate right. I called her my adopted mom, b/c my mom passed away when i was young............. When she died, that hit home for me.

Its must be so tough dealing with the dangers of your FH job. All you can do it pray that God keeps him safe out in the field and he returns home to you safely every night.

Awww
My heart goes out to you!
I would not be able to handle FH out everyday putting his life at risk for us! Give him a big hug for me & thank him for what he does. That story is ridiculously sad and I can't help but tear up whenever I hear it!

I can completely relate to this. My FH isn't an officer, but my father was (retired now). I just remember September 11, and calling him BEGGING him not to go to work because I was afraid something else was going to happen.

I hope that you never have to go through anything terrible, and that your FH stays safe and healthy.

I can totally relate, you are not alone! I am always worrying for Fh and my sister's husband. It's a terrible feeling but you just learn to appreciate people and things much more. You need to keep busy and think positive or you will drive yourself crazy
