Just curious about counseling etc
I am just wondering how you girls feel about premarital counseling. I think about how great FH and I are together but how much greater it would be if maybe we worked out some stuff with counseling.

Lately, especially after pre-Cana ended, I'm considering some pre-marital counseling to help us along a little. I always thought 'choice C' was my way of thinking, but I think that was naive of me. I love my FH, but at this point, I think someone else's guidance (of a pre-Cana nature) wouldn't hurt.
FH and I always talk when we have a problem - we normally don't allow the other to walk away - we deal with it then and there. There have been exceptions and we talk with our priest, but I don't think we'd ever consider therapy.
I actually think it's a great idea and I wouldn't look at it as a negative thing, but more of a constructive way to make your relationship better. I am sure my FH wouldn't go for it, but I think if you feel like it would help then go for it!!
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about pre marital therapy. Most people, as we see would choose C and think why would you get married if you feel you need therapy, but I disagree. Planning a wedding, living together, soon to be living together, where will you live, finances having to do with all that.... times are stressful. Sometimes we don't really hear what our fiance is saying.... and because of all the stress may have a shorter fuse than normal. Counseling sometimes gives people a chance to have the talks you normally would not have, or even the 45 min- 1 hour of quality time talking that you normally wouldn't have because of all the other hectic things going on. Counseling does not mean things are terribley wrong.... it is opening communication. IMHO.
We went before we were even engaged - I say go for it!!!
I believe it in. I also believe that you should go for yourself to find out more about you and how your life can be happier. Sometimes just going yourself really helps.
I think for people to choose choice C is ignorant. How many people on the newlywed board (only cause I am on their now) mentioned that better communication would make their marriage stronger or is a challenge in their relationship? So if you feel by going to counseling would make your relationship stronger, what are the consequences? If you feel that you are going because it may hurt your relationship then you may need to reexamine your relationship. There is nothing wrong with premarital therapy. No offense but how high is the divorce rate? Maybe we should all be in therapy before marriage. Big, expensive weddings don't guarantee happy endings.
