Just for Fun - Cana

Everyone has a different experience at Pre-Cana. What was the most ridiculous, upsetting, frustrating, heartwarming, funny, or simply memorable experience you had at your Pre-Cana?

Awww date twin!!!!!!!!!!!

my favorite part was that when we had to read the love letters we wrote for one another, FH and I took so long reading them (and I was crying) everyone had to wait for us to finish. It was so sweet!!

we just had our first night of pre cana on friday. It was at someone's house, with five other couples. I don't do well talking with people that i don't know, and i found the experience to be really stressful! I wanted to literally run out of the house when they started asking questions and going around the room!

they told me on the phone that you can participate however you'd like, and you won't be forced to talk... well i felt forced to talk, and it was not fun for me!

I hope next friday is better!

i wish mine was more like that!! we literally sat in silence for 10 hours until we had to do little q&a things with our FH's

Ours was okay... the other couples were very nice & we got along with them.

The couple that ran the program were very down to earth and easy to be around, they weren't preaching by any means.

I actually really liked the workbook they had us use. I thought I knew everything about FH, but by answering the questions in the workbook, I learned more about his 'emotional side'.

The only frustrating/uneasy night we had was the 'sexuality' night, which was hosted by a very old fashioned priest at the church. Aside from being uncomfortable, we just had clashing opinions with the priest.

But, overall we had a good experience.

Ours was awesome! The cutest thing was when we all had to close our eyes and hold up how many ppl were sitting at ur dinner table ( incl u and FH) in 10 years.........aka how many children do u want.....every single couple matched their significant other..it was really cute.

Our couple did something similar, but it was actually funny. They told us to close our eyes and picture ourselves around the dinner table for our first holiday as a married couple. They asked us to hold up our hand if we were sitting with our immediate family. Then we had to open our eyes and look at our fiance. FH and I were both holding up our hands! I guess we need to figure that one out lol

We actually had a really great experience and pretty much enjoyed the entire thing.

if it was just our family i would have said i want 5 kids, my fh knows this but would have said 3 bc $ realistic

Ours wasnt horrible, i would have died if they asked us to read love letters outloud. way to shy

We enjoyed our Pre-Cana. We were really on the same page on most of the questionaires!

We enjoyed a guest speaker that they had - a psychologist who does couples counseling.

It was us and 2 other couples. Our host couple, I'll call them R and J asked us to go around the room and say how we knew our future spouse was the one. R started and she said that she knew J was the one after he got out of jail from not paying rent on his apt for like 4 years and then became more responsible. J said he knew R was the one because she had big boobs....

And that, my friends, was the first night of pre cana!!!!!!!!!

I have a million other stories from R & J, but that has to be the cake topper!

That night is coming up for us... what do they talk about?? now i'm really nervous about it!!

That was another GREAT conversation with our couple...R said that she disagreed with the church's view on pre-marital sex becasue sex is something that you need to make sure your compatable with your partner because a lousy sex life makes for a lousy marriage

On top of that, it turns out that their daughter was engaged to her daughter's father so obviously R & J had other views on premartial sex bc their daughter broke that rule!

Did I mention that they were at Woodstock? Yeah, I think that also contributes to the freedom of sex idea!!

Dislikes:
*being there all day Sat & Sun (we did it in a weekend)
*speaking in a group in front of all these people we didn't know about personal stuff



Likes:
*FH & I talked about things we never talked about before bc of certain topics that came up in precana
*the breakfast & lunch was really good there
*the people holding the precana were SOOOO nice
*they made it fun to be there & not very religious at all (which was what i thought it would be, like reading from a bible the whole time)

Over all we liked it. I kind of wish ours had more of discussion time with your FH, but it was a really large group.

Best part of it was that we found out that our Church double booked our date and time when we went around the room and said when and where you were having your ceremony! Blessing in disguise I guess.
