Just Found out that we are moving...... to Wisconsin
in a couple of months for my hubby's job So probably moving there within the next 6-8 months or so
Going to visit in June of this year. So if anyone has any feed back on Wisconsin please let me know? thanks

A friend of mine from here in S.California where I live, moved there for work 3 years ago and I haven't seen her again. She loves it- the lakes, the open spaces- I know it sounds scary to make such a move but think of the opportunity to touch nature and not have to deal with traffic, crime etc that we deal with living in a big city. It may end up being fun!

The Midwest and Great Lakes states are 'the next big thing' according to some folks in real estate. (They say that New England, New York, New Jersey, California, Arizona, and Florida have all become 'saturated' -- overrun and too expensive, especially for younger folks. And not everyone can handle the weather in the Southeast states.) There are some very cool cities in the Midwest BESIDES Chicago! Madison, WI is a fun, clean, and pleasant place to live. Also, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Omaha, Des Moines, and Lawrence, Kansas, to name a few.
Wisconsin does get a lot of snow. And people have been killed for not loving THE PACKERS. Otherwise, no serious drawbacks.

Good luck! We had to move to California for my hubby's job in Sept. What we do for these men!

My DH grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee, which is a nice small city. The art museum is nice and it's also right on Lake Michigan. It has a cute downtown area near Marquette U. also.
They have a huge Irish Fest there every summer that is a lot of fun. And a huge casino- I think it's called Oconomowac. We also went to a game at Miller Park, which is a really nice stadium.
It goes without saying that you will be able to get a huge gorgeous house for much less than you'd pay on LI.
I don't know where you will be living or working, but North Prairie is nice- lots of new contruction and it's quiet without being too quiet! DH's cousins live there- it's about halfway between Milwaukee and Madison. They both commute to Milwaukee.
I know my DH always thinks about moving back, but I would miss my family too much (and his folks have since relocated to PA, less than 2 hours from us) but I loved it there. I hope you are happy there!

That is great! The cost of living in other states is so much cheaper than NY. My husband and I are planning to move to VA next year and I will be missing my family but I'm sure it will be good for my daughter and for us as well! I'm sure you guys will do great So, cheer up
