Just found stray kitten , NEED HELP

Dh called me this morning to tell me he found a little orange kitten near our building this morning. We agreed that if it was still outside when we got home, we'd take it in and try to adopt it out.

It is small, orange with white paws and looks relatively clean. He is currently in our bathroom. We cannot keep him- we have two cats of our own and are taking a risk just by taking him in.

I called Kitty Kind, Animal Haven, BarC and Loving Touch and the automated messages said they are not taking any new kittens. I am going to run his little one to my vet tomorrow morning and see about fees for spay/neuter and a check up.

What else can I do for him, besides food and water? He ate and drank.

He was SCREAMING his head off. I'd let him out of the carrier, but he was so freaked out I thought he'd bite me or DH. He was clawing the carrier and I was really afraid he was going to hurt his paws.

He finally quieted down, but I feel so bad for him.

Awwwwww...he's so CUTE!!! I wish I could take him. Our landlord won't allow pets. When I did have a cat, when she was a kitten, I fed her, gave her water (and cream!) and she still howled. As she got a litte older, it died down a lot to not at all. There was nothing wrong with her so I don't know what all the howling was for.

I adopted Disney through Loving Touch, I'm surprised they're not taking in new little ones.

You didn't mention anything about a litter box. Does he have anywhere to go? Maybe you can fill a small shoebox with some of your other cat's litter and just let him out in the bathroom for the night. The carrier is a little small to stay in much longer without stretching.

I hate to say this, but the same thing happened to us in August, and we now have just about adjusted ourselves to the idea of keeping Luna (the kitten in question).
