sooooooooooo out of 7 of us only 4 showed up today i had 64 patients!!! and then im suppose to leave at 9am and since like everyone in the hospital called out they called a code HICKS LEVEL 1 which means all supervisors n mgrs have to report to admin, and then they tell them whats going on.. soooo our code HICKS this morning was a mandatory mandate,... EVERYONE had to stay at work until they were released by someone else or told by a nursing supervisor they can go.. i didnt get released till 1pm!!!!! ughhhh not to mention it took 4 ever to get to work cuz at 4am the roads were FULL OF SNOW!!

lol yea got paid for it but who the heck wanted to stay especially when it was crazy all day... every 2 mins they were bringing in another MVA

oh thats fun lol Were the MVA's really bad? When i was on rotation a few years ago I had to sit with one and they were such a miserable pr!ck who was only there for lawsuit purposes....grrrrr

yea they were,.. one lady hit a tree she came in bleeding like crazy from her head,,,
and then there was 1 giant accident 3 cars and all of them were taken in... one of the cars was pinned and the fire dept had to get her out of the car and the other two dunno if it was serious or for insurance....
i do know that getting on the southern state from the cross island at 4am was horrible all i kept saying was theres totally gonna be accidents in a lil while...
as messed up as it sounds when i vollied at the ambulance corp a few yrs ago.. we were excited in snowy n raining weather cuz thats when all the actions happens..,.

I'm on the other side of the MVA (insurance) and we had to work a full day too. the first report Claims reps were really busy!
