Do you have a seperate perscription for reading? The best thing I think to get used to your contacts is gradually wear them a little bit longer each day. Start with couple of hours on the first day then add an hour each day. Are they disposibles?

I have to do the same thing, I am stressing over getting contacts. I have the phone number to make an appointment with the doctor, but I keep putting it off.
I feel your pain!!!

I've worn contacts for years and the only time I remember them being blurry is when I had them in wrong.
Is it possible they're in backwards? If it's blurry you may need a different prescription. You should call your doctor/place where you got them.
Good luck.

What do you wear glasses for? Just tv, driving, movies? If you usually take them off when you read, that could be your problem. You can't take your contacts out when you read.
You may need reading glasses to compensate. (counterintuitive, but that's what a cotor told me) Not exepnsice, just the drig store kind. I would say ask your doctor. He/She can tell you if that's it & how strong you should get them. If that is it, and she suggests reading glasses, you should be ok without them at the wedding, just be careful signing the marriage license! (or have the BM keep your reading glasses in his pocket!)

They really should not be blurry at all. I went through at least 10 different contact brands and prescriptions. I didn't have eyeglass insurance so when I found a pair that were good for my eyes it would have cost me so much $$ that I gave up and kept the glasses.I have a really bad astigmatisim. You should call your doctor and let him/her know tht your vision is blurry. Do you have them in backwards?

If your disance vision is OK with your contacts, but your reading vision is blurry, you may need bi-focal contacts. Do you wear bi-focal glasses? Or try wearing your contacts & using a pair of the reading glasses you find in the drugstore. Use a weak reading glass, 1.0 or 1.25, & see if reading is OK then. Don't but the glasses before you try them at the drugstore with your contacts on.

Peabody dont stress out! I got mine last year for my friends wedding and I love having them! I wear my glasses 90% of the time but I love the fact that I can put on my contacts if I want to and not have to deal with glasses.
It took me a few months to get used to them but honestly I only wear them on the weekends because I am too lazy to put them on in the mornings before work! PLus I actually like my glasses!
I had the same problem with blurryness when I first got htem. I am near sighted so that is the reason. But I have found that if I hold the book farther away its not so bad. another issue was that my contacts were a stronger prescription than my glasses, now I make sure that they are always the same prescription so it doesnt strain my eyes!
Watch out, your vision will get progressivly worse if you rely on corrective lenses for things you dont need them for.

I wear glasses all the time (reading, driving, tv...just seeing!) The blurriness isn't too bad just a little bit of a shadow on the text. I have to go back on Friday for a recheck. Maybe its because these are only 'diagnostic' lenses, not my real lenses yet. My doc has me wearing them for a week to see how I do and then come back for a recheck. Hopefully thats it!

Re: Just got contacts for wedding....help!
I just started wearing contacts a month ago, too. At first, it takes time to adjust. After the first 2 days you should be fine. I was told I have very dry eyes, and certain medications I take (allergy pills, birth control, etc.) make them worse. So I had to use my drops a little more often at first than some people. But after a few days, my eyes adjusted and now I hardly use the drops even. And I love not having my glasses forgging up in this cold weather. LOL.
