It was so sweet, something I haven't seen in ages. They sang 'Silent Night'- and they were pretty damn good too!

my mother used to drag us to go caroling and i was so embarrassed people used to slam the door on us LOL but some people were actually nice and let us sing I wanted to crawl in the bushes and die.

wow where do you live? they dont do that in my neighborhood my co worker they do she lives in cold spring harbor, I think its such a great thing.!!

Jan I grew up in Queens (Middle Village) and you should have seen the looks on the people's faces when my mom dragged us out!

We live in Northport. Moved here about 1 1/2 years ago. I love this town- I feel like I'm in a Norman Rockwell painting! The other day I had to go to the Post Office in town, & Santa walked right by me! Just strolling through the village. Then yesterday there was a man driving an antique car w/ the top down- he had a Santa hat on & the car was filled w/ Christmas characters, kind of like his entourage! This place is hysterical!!!

I've never seen carolers either but I grew up in Brooklyn. I didn't know that people actually did that. I thought that it only happened in movies.

I had some carolers the other night , they were holding wreaths that they made and at the end of there song they said to me..Would you be interested in purchasing our wreaths, if not if you liked our singing a donation would be greatly appreciated..I was laughing..they were like 7 or 8 years old..So I gave them each a dollar..It was cute

was it the high school choir or adults? the choir used to go caroling...i never went. i think i was sick one year. northport is a pretty town. someday, i'd like to move back.

That is so sweet. I LOVE Northport! I grew up in East Northport and am moving back in a few months. I am soooo excited.

My aunt lives in Northport...nice town.
As a girlscout we would go carolling every year. It was a Friday night and we would wear coordinated gloves/hats/scarves (red/green/white). Then we'd go back to Church on the Hill and have hot chocolate and such.
This was in Flushing, Queens.

Now we've had them come TWICE! I'm beginning to think it's the neighborhood kids looking for a little extra cash !!! (They seem sweet though).
