Nope I don't think so. If you don't get a breakdown (or at least an average cost) how will you be able to decide what should comprise your centerpieces and boquets?

I think maybe the vendor misunderstood you. Did you mean to ask an itemized breakdown for each item you are getting such as bouquets, CP's, BM's flowers....I think your question is leading more to how much each flower cost instead of cost per items and not flowers. Unless I'm reading it wrong, I'd thought the same thing.
ETA>> Unless you are using different flowers for everything and you want to know the price for each flower?

I wanted to know apprx how much flowers would be in each bouquet? For instance if she uses 2 dozen roses and they want to charge $150, what kind of roses are they??

Your request is reasonable. You wanted to know how much they are charging for each bouquet for instance and how many flowers each will bouquet will have.....

I think your request is 100& normal. IT's your money. It's your wedding. You should Know exactly what you'll be getting.

They should definitely be able to give you a breakdown of approximately how much each bouquet, ctrpiece, etc. would cost with different types of flowers. How else are they figuring out what to charge you? You were being totally reasonable!

There is nothing wrong with asking... but most florists will not give you a breakdown of exactly how much each flower costs and then how much she is charging for time and labor and materials. Doing so would not be customary and would be stupid of her to do in case her competitors wanted to know the inner workings of her business.
That said, she should tell you exactly what each item is costing you and what will be in each.
I would suggest getting a size approximation instead of # of flowers. My friend who wanted a raunculous bouquet was really unhappy with how small it was b/c the florist used smaller buds that she expected. If she had know her bouquet was going to be 10 inches wide instead of 14 like she wanted, she would have been able to prevent that. Plus, most bouquets and CP require a lot of flowers...the # is almost meaningless unless you know a lot about the flowers themsleves.
Also you may want to verify what kind of ribbon and cp holders, etc. are included. I found out too late that my florist would only provide white ribbon and I had to buy my own ribbons to wrap my bouquets.

i agree w/sonic steff...it may be hard to itemize the cost per flower...but she should definitely be able to tell you how much each piece (ie. bouquet, boutineers, CP) costs. then you can approximate how much each flower costs for that particular piece, including labor.

As long as you are paying for a service, you have every right to question prices. If anyone gives you attitude, you could always take your business elsewhere. As the daughter of a retired retailer, the old adage goes 'the customer is ALWAYS right!!!'

I am hoping to ask the florists how much each item will cost (BM bouquets, corsages, bout's, centerpieces, etc.), since I may have additional bridesmaids and groomsmen in my bridal party than the people I've asked already.
Definitely ask for a cost per item rather than the total package cost, so you can compare between different florists and ultimately feel more confident with your flower purchase.
Good luck!

Update Florist just called me to decline doing my wedding. She did not want to write out an itemized list.
