Just met with...

Thomas Paul... and we loved him!! He was so friendly and easy to talk to. We were able to see tons of albums and love his work!

Are you usually able to negotiate with photographers? He was a tiny bit out of our budget, but love him!

So I have no skills at this but all I would do is say 'Look I love your work, but it's a bit out of my budget, is there anything you can do for me?'

OR

'If I pay in cash can you do anything better for me'
(but you have to be able to pay in cash if you do this or it doesn't work LOL)

OR

'My wedding is in February, so it's technically the off season, all my other vendors have taken money off, is this something you can do for us too?'

OR

'So far every vendor has come down a little bit in price for us - I love your work but it's out of my budget, can we work something out'

I am the worst too.. They tell me a price, and I'm like okay. I'll try your first line 'Look I love your work, but it's a bit out of my budget, is there anything you can do for me?'

Hopefully he'll come done a little!

ALWAYS negotiate. I don't think I've paid full price for anything I've booked for the wedding other than the church.

I have an appointment scheduled with him at the end of March. I am so glad that you were so impressed let me know if you are able to negotiate with him at all. He told me over the phone that we could lower the price by getting rid of some albums etc. but i don't want to lose too much

ohhh we booked TP also!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED him right away!!! He even had an album from our church too!!!!!! we didnt negotiate but got a free upgrade for referring a co-worker!

Yes negotiate....I went to see him by myself and I don't know how to negotiate. I did however get everything I asked for. He is a real family man and he understands the business. As for paying in cash like I think Jess mentioned....that's one area where I think he mentioned that it didn't matter how you paid....it was going to be the same....b/c I'm dealing in cash (its my preference) and it didn't budge anything...JM experience... GL he is a great choice!

my fhs dad is a really good negotiator but to the absolutely annoying point were they bring the price down so much just to get u out of theree

You have to negotiate. We did with every vendor and saved at least 3,000 dollars all around.
