She's not paying = mind her business.

You can inform her of your decisions, but do not tell her how much $$$ - no need for that at all, especially since it's not her pocketbook!

My FMIL gave me a hard time about the officiant (I am Jewish and he is Catholic). My FH told her that she upset me and now things are great! Maybe your FH can talk to her...
