...about a certain bridal shop who shall remain nameless. I called to make an appointment and the woman on the phone was extremely rude! I told her when I needed the appt. and she told me she didn't have any available for that day. Okay, fine, then she proceeded to say I should come during the week. I told her it's impossible as I have an infant and a toddler at home with me all week (I'm currently a stay at home mom) and this particular shop is 2 hours from my home. She said to me 'I don't care, I have heard it all before, lots of people drive 2 hours to shop with us.' Am I being over-sensitive here? This woman's attitude really almost ruined my day and makes me never want to go dress shopping anywhere!

Sorry that you had to experience such rudeness. I would definitely dismiss them and find a place that treats you better.

You're not overreacting..you potentially would drop big bucks there. They just lost your business.

Totally NOT over-reacting...I once got the same attitude from a certain well-known mu person & also a shop...'hah, we can fit you in, in 2-3 weeks, not THIS Saturday.' WHY when there are so many quality retailers who do care about their customers will you go to one that obviously is too busy to care about customer service.

I would be upset too, that is rude behavior and someone who wants you business should be a little nicer

If she was really that rude, you shouldn't deal with that shop, period. Don't let it upset you. There are plenty of other shops who WON'T be rude to you.

Too bad for her that she's heard it all, but in the business this woman is in, she should be accomodating to potential customers! How rude!

Re: Just need to vent...
Thank you all so much for your kind words!
I just got off the phone with Macy's in Smithaven Mall and the woman was very pleasant. She had no problem fitting me in and said only that appointments were advised, not mandatory. The best part is, now that I am registered with them, I'll get a discount on my gown.
Now, if I can only find something I like...
Wish me luck and thanks again!

We all have noticed similar situations. Rave about a vendor and we get so disappointed because we did not experience the same situation
There are many vendors on LI. That mean we also have choices. They don't want to do business with you.. well then, do business somewhere else.

Re: Just need to vent...
The first bridal shop that I had an appointment with was so rude to me that I didn't want to go to any other shop. I figured they were all like that. (Luckily they all weren't like that)
Funny thing is, that rude bridal shop ended up closing up shop and going bankrupt. Gee, I wonder why.

Re: Just need to vent...
If they are treating you like this now, how will they be once they have your money??? They should at least kiss you butt prior to taking to your cash. How will they accomodate you when it comes to your fittings? You dont need that added stress. There are some great bridal shops out there, no need to settle on one that doesnt treat you right.

Not every bridal place is like that! Go to someone else and give them your business. I would call the so-called bridal shop and ask to speak with a manager to report the incident and let them know that you will be going elsewhere w/your business!
