Just popping in to ask for baby shower suggestions

Our friend is pregnant, due in Feb. I think her mom is having a shower, but we (a group of girlies who met becasue our hubby's) are firends, want to have a small shower for her.

Any suggestions, preferably in NYC - and not afternoon tea

how about brunch at Balthazar in Soho? There are of course tons of places you can reserve a little private party room - but I think it would get expensive! Balthazar is a nice spacious place, and if it's just a few of you I am sure they could seat you towards the back where you could open gifts, etc.
