I agree - IMO it's too offensive and upsetting. If the Govt knew enough to keep it from us, then it shouldn't be on this website

KP, whatever all you want.....I think it's disgraceful that I and other women on this site, clicked onto a website thinking we're going to read an article and see pics like that on MSNBC or CNN, and instead I get graphic pictures that OUR OWN GOVERNMENT doesn't want people seeing. And I reiterate...THERE ARE WOMEN ON THIS SITE THAT HAVE HUSBANDS WHO EITHER ARE FIGHTING, OR MAY IN THE NEAR FUTURE...you think they need to see that?????

I don't think its the fact that the gov't doesn't want us to see them...but that it is against the geneva convention??

not sure what they would do if it was on a wedding website

MISTY - RELAX!!! I PUT 'WHATEVER' IN THERE BECAUSE IT WAS JUST AN EMPTY SPACE AND I WANTED TO FILL IT WITH SOMETHING. SORRY I PUT THAT UP THERE TOO. IF I DIDNT GIVE A SH*T WHAT OTHERS THOUGHT/FELT I WOULD HAVE LEFT THE LINK ON THERE.

I didn't say they would do something, I said it's disrespectful, and inappropriate.

And it is that it's against the Geneva convention, what do you think the point of that rule is? To protect the families of those involved. I know there are no families of these POW's on this site, but like i said in my last post...of forget it what's it worth.

My brother fought in Desert Storm. Some of the people captured/dead are from his military base in El Paso. I understand first-hand what these families feel....sometimes they cannot speak to their loved ones for six months (that was my case with my brother when he was in combat) and then to find out on tv or see pics on the internet is just tragic to say the least.
My hearts go out to all the families.

Believe me T, I do....I just think the original post was misleading and that's why I wanted it clarified. I just don't think it belongs here.

KP, I got ****ed because I really didn't expect to see that, and it got me upset. When you put whatever, it set me off....no one likes feeling dismissed when it comes to something that serious. I misunderstood, sorry I got nuts.

I think part of the confusion was that many ppl assumed the link was to a news story that we've seen on TV regarding the POWs. Not a graphic display of what really happened (I didn't even see the pics so who knows).

I just don't see the benefit of posting pics that upsetting here - so thanks KP for taking it down

Teri - I put 'Link to the horror' 'LINK TO PICS' I didnt think it was going to be a secret that there were some horrible, unthinkable pics on the site. BUT ITS OVER NOW.

I missed all of this today but Spanky called me tonight and was giving me what I missed and she told me to check this out.

I didnt see the pics but I have been watching the news. CNN showed the pics a few times but the faces were covered so all you saw was from the neck down.

Its sad, horrible, and we all feel angry, BUT THIS IS WAR! WAR IS NOT PRETTY!

Its terrible we have to live this, but its reality and its war.

I feel horrible for the families that are living this (i have a friend that is in the Army reserves and I call him everyday just to hear his voice) and its sad that this is the world we live in, and its horrible what these men and woman are facing, but its reality. We must for the grace of god go on and pray that our military comes home safetly. Thats all we can do.

I partly blame Clinton for this, He pulled out of the last Gulf War after the BlackHawk Crash ( if you saw black hawk down you know what I am talking about) because of when it crashed they paraded the bodies through mogidisu and that got all over the news and our president put his tail between his legs and just left.

Thankfully, I know Bush will not do that, but unfortuntaly that is what Saddam was trying to do here as well.

As a wife of a pilot in the USAF this is my worse fear, but luckily most branches have specializaed training for them for these cases. Right now I am praying for all of our military and their familes!
