Re: Just saying Hey!!!
Flacataca I have the same situation with flowers since I'm in Queens I'd like a vendor a little closer for the bridal party flowers etc. I was thinking about seeing Donald Hedgecock who was recommended by NSGraham (Nadine), he actually is about a 10 minute drive from my house. For the reception hall which is in Long Island I've gotten a good quote from LA Blossom and will most likely meet with flowers by Lorraine who is the house florist for the Riviera to see if her prices are worth it. I don't plan on upgrading the centerpieces provided by the Riviera so it's just flowers for the sweetheart table, the placecard table, cake table and for the outdoor gazebo.

JP&EP...I thought it was a bad idea to get two different florists but to be honest...I like the idea better. That way you have two people looking out for your best interest. It is a pain to decide but every wedding decision is a pain!

I am in Bensonhurst. I have a few I can recommend you if you want. They are closer to my side of Brooklyn though.

Re: Just saying Hey!!!
I went to make a purchase in Macy's a dress for my friend's wedding. I'm in her wedding party and the dress fit perfectly, no alterations. They had a Baltimore address for my a/c. I didn't think anything of it. THen they went to put the purchase through and it didn't want to take. THey said my balance was 1,997.00!!! I had a 200.00 balance and I only have a 1200.00 credit limit!! Now its in the fraud dept. I have to fill out paper work to send back to them. I'm in the clear, all these purchases have been made while I was at work. My boss wrote me a letter to say I was at work.
Ladies, PLEASE shred every piece of paper you have.. Its scary that this happened. The person made a whole lot of purchases in May. They made 2 purchases for men's shoes for over500.00!!!

I would like to do more than ring the person's neck.lol My mom said it may just be a simple error. I could see the sales receipt of the signature once they get the fraud paperwork back.

If you don't have a shred PLEASE PLEASE invest in one. Once they get the paperwork, I won't know if its a simple error or someone got my info.

The person could've showed a fake id to change the address. My last four digits of my s.s. number they scramble for it to be for there license. I called MD DMV, they don't have a license in my name. THat's a good thing.

thats what I just thought, if I have a church wedding somewhere in Brooklyn then I will just find another florist that is around here to do it... another question that I have: when do they deliver the flowers, for example the centerpieces, will they set it up or do you do it yourself? and do you go to pick up your bo-k the same day? how does it work? I am so confused lol

Hm, I didnt know some florists would not travel. Mine is coming from LI to Astoria and Bay Ridge. And at the crack of dawn, too.
Eeek, identity theft! I had that happen to me once. Some bozo maxed out my credit card in an auto shop. When the CC company called to let me know, I was like what the F***??? I dont even own a CAR? They straightened it out though. Discover is really good about that.

I agree. My biggest fear is that some flowers will be missing on the day of. I'll just feel better knowing the florist is not that far from home in case of an emergency. Call me paranoid but I think I'll stick with that plan.

Re: Just saying Hey!!!
My tentative timeline for flowers:
Bo-k's, bouts and corsages will be delivered to my apt in Bklyn at 8am. Centerpieces, cake flowers and aisle things will be delivered to Astoria Manor at about 11, so they can set it up.

Wow! That is great. Florists told me straight out...NO for coming to Brooklyn and NO for going out to LI.

Re: Just saying Hey!!!
You know, Flowers By Emil told me to come back next year. Kind of a bad attitude there.
