My friend is breaking up with her boyfriend and she is going to need some place to stay for awhile before she gets an apt. BTW, she has stayed with me before. Anyway, I have just spent the past few hours trying to clean my apt. She said she would call me by 6 and be at my apt around 8. Hello? It is 8:20! Does she think I have nothing better to do than sit around and wait (its Friday) or is she under the impression this is a hotel? Is this a little disrespectful or am I insane?

Re: Just sitting here waiting (vent)
Haven't you heard....breaking up is hard to do!
Okay, maybe that's not so funny to you right now. I think you are a wonderful friend to open your home to her while she's going through a difficult time. Did you tell her when you made these arrangements tonight that you had other obligations, and couldn't wait all night for her to show up?
If you didn't make that clear to her, perhaps she doesn't realize that it's an inconvenience to you right now. I am sorry that you're pissed (I understand), but I still think you are very good friend and it sounds like that is what she really needs right now!
Good luck...it is not always easy to live with your friends!

I know what you are saying! She has stayed with me before when she has had problems with her boyfriend. I would just appreciate a call as to when she is coming over!

It IS very nice of you, and YES, I would be bothered to. It's inconsiderate. In her defense, I'm sure she's in the middle of doing something very difficult and hasn't even thought that she might be infringing on your plans.
