Just some info about GD supplies that might help one of you

So my diabetes doctor told me to call my insurance company and ask where to get my testing supplies from, because NYS Law requires the insurance company to pay for all diabete supplies. So I do that, and I am told to call the RX insurance provider. So I do that. I am told I can go to any local pharmacy to get my supplies. well last night I go to CVS to pick them up and they come to over $70.00 My Co-pay for the test strips was $50.00 and the other two testing things I had to pay for out of pocket, with no benefits because they were less than the $25.00 non-generic drug co-pay. Hum....there are no generic supplies so that seems a bit dumb/unfair to me. Well I call the RX company this morning and say 'these have to be covered by Law, right?' after I go thru a lot of 'well, you don't have the preferred device and supplies' yada..yada..yada..anyway I call the main insurance company to ask '***'...turns out I was given WRONG information in the first place and that ALL the testing supplies MUST be covered without a co-pay thru the main company. So now I have to submit a claim form to get my $$ back.

But I wanted you girls to know this. You shouldn't have to pay out-of-pocket for those supplies.
