Hello All,
I just got engaged over Christmas and am starting to look at halls. We are planning a March 2003 wedding. The wedding will take place in Suffolk County. Any good/reasonable priced halls? Any info would be very appreciated! Thanks

Hi,

CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement. That's wonderful. I got married in September and had my reception at Smithtown Landing Country Club in Smithtown. It's part of the Lessing's catering company. We had a Sat. night wedding at $62 pp. That included cake, linens, modified Vienese Table, coffee cordials bar. It was a wonderful night -- the catering manager Kathy O'Dell is there at your wedding and making sure everything is going well. The food was wonderful! And the staff was friendly and helpful. It's not as fancy as some places but we were really pleased. There are a couple of rooms depending on the size of your wedding. We had the cocktail hour in one room (Nissequouge Room --where depending on the year you can see the river), and the reception was in the Imperial Room which is on the golf course. If you are having a small wedding I really loved the Nissequogue Room. It has a fireplace and cozy atmosphere. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at [email protected]

Try Port Jefferson Country Club, East Wind, The Hamlet Windwatch (I am getting married at the one in Hauppauge), The Meadow Club, The WaterMill. Plus I am sure a ton of other girls have suggestions too.
Congrats!! Have a great time planning. I also use www.ultimatewedding.com as a great place to share ideas.

Congratulations and happy planning

I can't help with catering halls in Suffolk but I did buy my gown in Islip. Let me know when you are up to gown shopping.

My sister is getting in March 2003 sounds like a popular.

Congratulations!

I was going to suggest the Meadow Club in Port Jeff. It's very pretty (lots of places to take pictures) and they are very reasonable. We were quoted $65pp for a sat. nite wedding in sept. They have a couple of rooms to accomodate different party sizes. The food was very good too!
Have fun planning!!

Congratulaions! There is a great magazine called Locations that has a ton of Catering Halls on LI as well as a quick bio for all of them. I'm getting married at the Miller Place Inn next summer and so far I have been very pleased with them. I had my tasting already and the food is excellent! Good Luck!

Congrats! The Port Jeff Country Club is great!

We got married there in September and everything was top notch! The website is www.portjeffcc.com their prices are so reasonable for the level of service & quality you get. Good luck to you! These boards are so full of valuable information!!

Congratulations!

Sorry I can't help in the Suffolk department. Actually, I'm not sure which towns are suffolk or which are nassau at this point (moved to LI not too long ago). But just wanted to say congrats and good luck!

Congrats! One more place you should definitely check out. I am not sure if they are in Suffolk county. It is the Sail Harbor in Bayville. It is stunning - right on the water. We are getting married in March 2002. The one benefit of March is that they are more flexible in terms of price. Good luck!
