Just Venting.......

Sis called me last night to tell me that my parents are moving to FL before my wedding, not after. Not that Im mad about that, but my mom and I got into some heated arguements because I was looking at catering halls she deemed 'too far away'. If it was more than 30 minutes away from HER HOUSE, then it was too far. Now, guess what? She's not even going to have a house to drive from!!! Im so heated that I turned away a couple of catering halls I really liked just because it was too far for her. Sorry Im just really mad. Plus now I have no where to get dressed, so Im probably going to have to rent a room at the hotel, plus instead of the limbusine that we were getting, it looks like I'll have to get 2 limos. Calgon....take me away!!!

I know exactly how you feel! My mom did the same to me.... she moved to FL a few months after I got engaged!! (We didn't fight about my reception site though)

I have to get ready at an Aunt's house and now I have to worry about getting HER around all day and where SHE'S going to stay, etc etc.

Don't worry -- it'll be okay and the hall you selected was the hall that was meant to be for you!! It will all work out!

it happens, things change, there is nothing you can do about it

i'm little upset that i must get ready in a hotel (family is all OOT and we live in jersey), but it is what it is... i would much rather get ready in the house i grew up in, but that was sold 3 houses ago

I can understand that. My parents moved away right b4 I got engaged. However, FH and I are staying in my parents coop now, and when they come down for a visit, they stay back in their old room. So the day of the wedding, I'm going to use our place, and FH is going to get ready at his best mans. Can you do something like that?

OOh I forgot to mention that FH is getting ready at the best mans house, bc his parents moved away too...

Im not really upset about the hotel room. Im more upset at the fact that there were a couple of catering halls I really liked that I couldnt even consider just because it was to far for her. I can work something out like FH getting married at his grandma's and I can just get ready at our apartment. I'll probably do that then. Who knows. Im not all too worred about it, because where there's a will there's a way. Im just pi$$ed off about my mom making such a stink for NOTHING!!!! Thanks for understanding guys!!

My mom is talking moving away too and I will really be devastated. I am begging her to at least stay so I can ready there and she says that she rather leave during the summer.
That is just a month before the wedding...she can't wait a month!!!!!!!!

The reception hall is going to be great! It is the one you are supposed to be at...things happen for a reason mama!!!

Although my mom is not moving away, she tried the same thing with me and the halls. We told her we were looking at some that were about 45 minutes to an hour away, and she said that was too far. I reminded her that my brother got married three states away and if I want a hall an hour away, people are just going to have to deal with it.

Your hall is beautiful and I'm sure all will turn out well.

Oh I am so sorry... It will be a GREAT wedding at the place you chose... dont look back sadly. And I hate changing plans (hotel and limos) but it will be ok. You can come stay at my house!
