Is the Catholic Church getting to anyone else right now. I mean I grew up in St. James Parish and there we had Fr. Tom who got caught messing around with some boys, then my St. James the school closed when I was in the 7th grade so I went to Maria Regina there we had Fr. Malard (who got caught messing around with the special boy at Jones beach) So, then Joe and I got engaged and my family were still members of St. James, but yet Fr. gene said he wouldn't marry us (well he would, but we couldn't even be penciled in until Joe was back on the East Coast.. well be was doing pilot training and was restricted do to 9-11. So we then switched to St. Kilians were we have a great priest a new loving parish and I must say a great church to get married in :)
But then I read in today's newsday about Fr. Gene!
And it is just so upsetting. I mean that is the second known priest to have gotten caught there and to make it worse it used to be a school when my brother and I attended. I really don't know why I am babbling I am just upset. But hey, I guess in the long run things work out. Because he said he wouldn't give us a date we ended up at a new great parish with a new great priest and not being caught in this mess.. Yuck!

i know what you mean - I'm so disgusted with the whole
scandal and honestly I am glad that my FH and I are not getting married in the Church! It was hard for us to make the decision! This whole thing is crazy though, horrible, disgusting, just simply crazy!

a friend of mine has been saying how great it is that they are getting married by an old family friend/priest. today at dinner they got a call that he has been arrested for molesting someone 10 years ago. Im not sure if this is father gene or not...but I almost died tonight when I opened up the newspaper and saw the pic of father gene...he used to preach at st. thomas in west hempstead, where I went every sunday with my grandma and sat in the first pew when i was little, i used to think he was the best priest. I couldn't believe what he had done! its definitely disheartening and frightening?? I wonder why catholic priests are prone to this!! it's terrible!!

hmmmm I bet I know who you are.....should your name be EBsgirl? It's debbie f.....that's nuts about father gene, he was supposed to do my friends wedding in Sept, they are going nuts!!
