Just wanted to give a little inspiration..

Just wanted to give a little inspiration..

I reunited with my BEST friend after not speaking for a year & a half & now she will be my bridesmaid!!! I just had to share. We stopped talking for a stupid reason. We were both stubborn & no one called or even tried to fix it. I don't know why it even happened. Probably because I am always the one with everyone else that tries to fix everything. I think this time I was like she needs to come to me. (Her & I had NEVER had a fight though in 7 years of friendship)..So by behaving this way, I lost the person closest to me.

All this time I got engaged, & am planning my wedding. But I had an emptiness because she wasn't going to be a part of it. It just wasn't the same. One day last week I let my other good friend in on how I was feeling & she blurts out that she saw her, & that she missed me (nice girl, she saw her 3 months ago & 'forgot to tell me??'anyway...) I found that hard to believe since never made any attempt to contact me. But then, she told me something that my old Best Friend had said to her that I didn't tell anyone... When she watched the Heidi & LC reunion she was balling thinking of us! haha I did the exact same thing but felt so stupid I never mentioned it to anyone..that was enough for me... Stupid as it may sound, this was my sign & I was going to make it right.

It was killing me to picture my wedding day without her in it. I wrote her a msg on Facebook, & pretty much told her that. With in 10 minutes she wrote me back that she was hysterically crying & wanted to talk but couldn't because of work & that she'd call me that night. She did & we met up last night for dinner & I got to see her entire family again. I was so happy especially because her sis is due with their 1st baby this Monday! So I basically proposed to her if she'd be my bridesmaid & we both started crying.

Life is too short & I didn't want to end up like my gf at work that got married & had her baby with out reconciling with her friend. She's 55 told me that to this day still regrets it..

Sorry I just needed to share & inspire anyone else maybe in the same situation...Words cannot describe how happy I am.

That is awesome!! I am so happy for you. Its true that sometimes we lose sight of the big picture and let stupidity stand in our way. I am so happy you shared this!! congrats!!

Sometimes it takes reflection on our lives to realize what matters most. SOOOOO happy to hear this. I was in a similar situation myself.

Wow - i went through the SAME EXACT thing with my bridesmaid. Stupid fight, both never called and four years later we finally started talking again right after I got engaged. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad things worked out with you and your friend.

Happy to hear that. I can relate. I was in a similar type situation. Me and a very, very close freind stopped talking over a vaction that never went through. We went almost 2 years without speaking and I thought she hated me the whole time. One day I got up enough courage and wrote an email telling her that I missed her. She responded within an hour, called me and we were talking again as if we never stopped talking. She had moved a few states away though, but we talked all the time, sent christmas gifts but the few times she did come back to visit, she never contacted me to hang out which kind of hurt me. I saw her at a wake about 3 years ago and it was really akward seeing her there, especially at a wake and we just never spoke after that night. She called me up to see if I wanted to go with her there that night too. I ended up going with my other friend so not sure if that's why she was cold. Weird right? I'm a completely different person then I was when we were friends though but I still think about her from time to time. I know she still lives a few states away, is still friends with 1 of my old friends and I have thought about sending her an email or something but maybe our friendship was just supposed to be during that time in our lives
