Just wondering....

Just wondering....

For any of you who are already married - did you or DH make a speech at the reception thanking everyone for coming.

Girls who aren't married, are you planning on doing this??

Re: Just wondering....

We didn't make a speech just MOH and BM. At our RD we did make a speech thanking everyone becuase we felt like those were the people who really helped us.

we did ours at the RD...we had no speeches at the wedding to keep FIL from his usual saying of 'there's always one person who loves more in a relationship'...can you tell he's still bitter about a divorce that happened 20 yrs ago..and was HIS fault? haha

Re: Just wondering....

We skipped past all speeches, except for the best mans which is the only one we really should have skipped, his speech was a disaster...

I think its nice to say something if you can, but with all the excitement and everything, you have to make sure you are ready to speak. We just decided to skip it all

DH did not say anything.. he took the mic and went blank
I did all thank yous and at the end thanked my aunt who made my gown & presented a gift to her

I think I want to do a speech with the FH, thanking our parents and our guests.

Re: Just wondering....

We were going to at the RD and the wedding, but there ended up being way too much going on that we never had time.

I am considering it, but I don't know if FH's mom, whom I will now affectionately dub 'momzilla' will find that enough, in lieu of walking around to each and every guest!
