Just wondering...

Does anyone NOT have a budget? Like, I never sat down and said 'ok, this is what I should spend blah blah blah'

NOT THAT IM GOING EXTRAVAGANT, but I've just been dealing w/things as they come up. Anyone else in this boat? The clueless and just handing out cash boat?

Thats what were doing. If I thought of what we would be spending all together before I planned the wedding, we wouldnt be having one.

We dont have a budget either. We just said we'll get what we want for the best possible price. so far so good! The only thing we really slurged on was the band....everything else has been pretty reasonable

i'm with u. i never had an absolute set budget - definitely just clueless and handing out money.
Hoping that the money tree i planted grows by spring time:)

We never did. I just shopped around for what I thought was good prices for good quality. I tried to make a budget but it confused me. I made an excel spreadsheet to calculate our spending but not really sticking to anything.

we were the same way until i saw fh and his impulsivity and his need to be a girl when ti comes to the wedding...

he really is so involved in the whole wedding he busts my chops to get a move on since i am so busy with school and work. he hates that i havent changed the hotel yet to our new date. i know i am slow but i am so busy haha

but no we only set a slight budget recently bec we actually want some of the money we safe to be put aside for a new car since fh will need one when he gets home . he sold his car when he went into the marine corps and he feels as well as i that he deserves a present after dealing wtih 4 yrs in the corps so he wants a new car nothing like a mercedes ro anything but something nice and new so i put a budget since he will need a car right away

the only reason i have a budget is bc everything is booked and i know exactly what i owe - so that is my budget

i TRIED to make a budget - and it ended up not even covering the hall

US!!!!!

We have been putting a certain amount away each pay check so we know what we will have total by a certain date. If we have extra we through that in too.

We will be keeping track of what we spend but we just figure it out as it comes along.

One smart thing we have done is when we meet with vendors we price everything high so that it will look like we saved money

same with us, we are just trying to keep it minimal rather than over the top. we came in at an average # and are trying to save to that mark.

we started out with a budget then realized we were crazy and weddings are sooo expensive. Evertthing goes over our 'budget' so its like we dont have one. (w/ ppl being added to the guest list and all)

BUT, everynow and then, we have to reel it in b/c all we do is shell out $..like we have it or something..haha

When it comes down to it- our wedding is still well under the average wedding amount for LI
